A Farmstay Made for the Whole Family – Pets Included.

We know a getaway just isn’t the same without your four-legged family members.

At Farmstay – The Bluff, our large, fully meshed and secure yard gives your dogs plenty of room to run, explore and enjoy the country air.

We’ve also fully enclosed underneath the house, so there are no disappearing dogs—or muddy adventures under the floor!

And with hard flooring throughout the main living areas, bringing your pets inside is easy too.

Country space, fresh air, happy dogs and a relaxing farmstay for everyone.

Other than the gate, which I'll complete this afternoon the underfloor of the farmhouse is now fully enclosed.

It's been a big job, expensive and has consumed so much time but it's finally done.

*552 lineal metres of treated pine
*12 litres of paint
*5000 nails
*And the hardwood frame to hold the panels, which was a big job again.

Whilst I was in the mood I crawled up to the lower part of the house and knocked some of the early boards out. As the project evolved I developed a more tapered look around the footings so I wanted to fix some areas. It's actually a very clean underfloor so it wasn't too bad to go under there.

Would I do it again, nope. That said I promised some guests early on that we would enclose it so the pets wouldn't go under and get muddy/dirty. Two years later the job is done and it looks really good.

A little more progress at Farmstay The Bluff!

We’re finally getting close to finishing the enclosure underneath the house, a project that’s taken a lot longer (and cost a little more!) than we originally imagined.

But it’ll all be worth it. Once complete, our four-legged guests won’t be able to sneak underneath the house exploring and come back looking considerably less clean than when they went in!

It’s all part of continually improving the Farmstay and making it as safe, comfortable and pet-friendly as we can.
The end is finally in sight!

Sometimes it’s the little things our guests leave behind that mean the most.

We recently had a lovely family stay with us who absolutely fell in love with our cows and really embraced the whole farm experience.

With another new calf arriving, we gave their daughters the very important job of choosing her name.

And so, Yumi she became.

But there was another little surprise for us. One of the daughters, Georgina, drew this beautiful picture of Yumi for us—and we absolutely love it.

These are the moments that make sharing our farm with guests so special. People arrive as visitors, but sometimes they leave a little piece of themselves behind.

Thank you, Georgina. Your drawing will be treasured, and Yumi will always have a special story behind her name.

🌟 A special milestone for Segla Santa Gertrudis! 🌟

We're excited to announce the arrival of the first calf sired by our new herd bull, Glenn Oaks Vanuatu (PP).

First-time mum Segla Veronica (P), an S Classified heifer, has done an outstanding job, and both mum and her healthy bull calf are doing wonderfully.

To make this little fellow's arrival even more special, our Farmstay guests had the honour of choosing his name. Welcome to the world Segla Yoda! We can't wait to watch him grow and proudly register him with the Santa Gertrudis Breeders Association.

Every calf represents years of planning and breeding, making this a very exciting day for our small stud.

Welcome to the Segla family, Yoda! ❤️🐂

Supporting local businesses isn't just about convenience, it's about investing in the community we all call home.

We strongly believe that every dollar spent locally helps support local families, creates local jobs, and keeps our regional economy strong.

Today, at Farmstay The Bluff, we welcome Jacob and the team from Scenic Rim Waste & Recycling who will commence doing our monthly waste collections.

We believe it's another great local business providing an essential service, and we're proud to support them.

This is just wrong on so many levels. Including the bit where an Australian farmer was locked out of being able to negotiate to buy. This government knows no bounds when it comes to spending taxpayer money.

To be fair I guess we're in so much debt it's no longer tax payer money, it's massive loans that taxpayers pay the interest upon.

AUSTRALIA SOLD OUT AGAIN.
Tassies biggest farm sold so overseas investors can grow carbon credits.
What's worse... government subsidised the sale.
I can't find out exactly how... but there you go...we are now funding our own sell out.
And people are too frightened to vote for change.

A big couple of days, painting on day 1 and today the ongoing installation works.

I estimate another 40 lengths of timber after I use my last 20 lengths. That's a lot of painting and cutting. 🤠

The plan continues to close in under the house so that our guests pets don't go under there and get all dirty. It's not cheap and we've been doing it when I have time and funds but slowly we are getting closer to the finish line.

I'm bushed so it's an early night for me tonight.
