Cambridge dog owners now have a new place to let pets run free, with a $1.2 million off-lead dog park open at 1000 Cambridge Road.
The 1.5-hectare fully fenced park has two areas, including a quiet zone for timid, older or injured dogs, plus paths, grass, logs and rocks.
Clarence Mayor Brendan Blomeley said the park would help residents get outside, connect with others and support health, wellbeing and social connection.
Eastern Shore Veterinary Hospital veterinarian Amy Evans urged owners to supervise dogs closely, with the park forming stage one of a wider Cambridge Oval precinct redevelopment.
