Ferniehurst Cherries

Delicious fresh-from-the-tree cherries from our family farm in the Coal River Valley in Tasmania, which means we sell on the same day of picking or the next.

None of these weeks old cherries held in a cool room! Our cherries are grown on the slopes of Brown Mountain in the Coal River Valley in South East Tasmania. We are a 45 minute drive from Hobart, but because our orchards are in an isolated position we do not offer a come and pick yourself option. However, we certainly can arrange to have cherries ready for you if you do want to come out to Fernieh

urst and buy some. Our cherries are picked straight from the tree for markets such as Salamanca and farm markets, usually the day before market. Because we get that extra bit of warmth in our little valley, our cherries are alway deliciously sweet and tasty, and we have built up a steady clientele at our markets. We will also do a delivery service in the larger Hobart area during the afternoon of Christmas Eve with cherries picked in the morning, so you are guaranteed really fresh cherries for your Christmas table.

Come to Salamanca Market this Saturday for our last hurrah of the cherry season. We will be at Site 189, which is on the grass / wharf side of the market, more or less opposite Wooby's Lane. They are sweet, they are dark, like chocolate dark, and they are the last freshly picked cherries you will find till next Christmas! 🍒

Yes, finally a post about our weekend cherry markets! On Saturday we will be at Salamanca Market at site no 182, on the wharf side of the market and we will be in the same spot at Harvest Launceston. On Sunday we will be at the Evandale Market, pop by and try one of our cherries! 🍒🍒
