You may not know exactly where Hillcrest Farm Loddon Valley is yet… but there will be signs.

We’re in Victoria, just north of Bendigo, tucked into the beautiful Loddon Valley and surrounded by broadacre farms growing grain and hay, raising wool, fat lambs and beef.

This is small farm life under big skies — frosty mornings, sunrise over the paddocks, fog lifting through the trees, newborn lambs finding their feet, and that quiet kind of country magic you only get if you’re up early enough.

From September, we’ll be opening the gates for seasonal events, long tables, gatherings and special experiences here at Hillcrest Farm.

We hope you’ll come and pay us a visit.

Build a Silo Bar With Us - Part 3
Building the subfloor and landing on solid ground đź‘Ś

This stage involved grinding out all the steel supports so a telehandler and tractor could take the weight while the original stand was pulled out.

A lot of great minds - and just a little bit of physics and engineering - went into this one.

The only bit that didn’t quite go to plan was a minor miscommunication between the marketing department and operations… which means we somehow missed filming the actual moment the silo stand was pulled out.

But you get the idea.

The silo bar is officially off its stand, sitting where it needs to be, and ready for the next stage.

Build a Silo Bar With Us — Part 2

Finally, the ground has dried out enough to make a proper start on our silo bar project.

First job: cutting out the cone.

Gary’s trusty plasma cutter had a very good workout today and, in just under two hours, the job was done and ready for the next step.

This footage is a little longer than usual because we know a few of you are watching along with your own silo bar — or grain bin bar — dreams.
