Yesterday, YDN members got a behind-the-scenes look at Bega's Koroit facility, following the journey of milk from the farm gate through to the finished products on our shelves. The group explored the site's four dryers, butter production operations and more.

A highlight of the tour was the lactoferrin plant, which extracts a naturally occurring milk protein used in infant formula and health products. The group also saw how the factory treats and recycles water for agricultural use

A big thank you to Bega Koroit for hosting the tour. It was a great opportunity to learn more about dairy processing and what happens to milk beyond the farm gate.

TIMBOON DROP-IN SESSION - WESTERN REGION SUSTAINABLE WATER STRATEGY

The Victorian Government is developing a new Western Region Sustainable Water Strategy, and community input will help shape decisions about water security, drought resilience, farming, the environment and local communities for years to come.

If you live, work or farm in the region, consider dropping into the Timboon community consultation session to learn more, ask questions and share your ideas.

It’s on Wednesday 12 August, 12.30pm to 3pm at the Power Creek Reserve Building, 30 Bailey Street, Timboon.

Meet with the Sustainable Water Strategy Team, learn more about the project and share your views on the future of water in our region.

Submission forms will also be available on the day.

Upcoming clinic dates:
·13 & 20 August
·17 & 24 September
