A little guide to help you choose, store and enjoy your cake.
Cake size doesn’t always equal serving size.
A smaller cake doesn’t necessarily mean fewer servings, and a larger cake doesn’t always mean bigger slices.
At Formulab, our cakes are designed to be enjoyed as a rich dessert experience with layered flavours and textures. How many people a cake serves ultimately depends on how you choose to cut it.
If you’re sharing it after a meal, you may prefer smaller slices. If you’re celebrating with fellow dessert lovers, don’t be surprised if everyone reaches for a larger piece.
As a guide, we recommend:
• Single Serve — 1 person (3 × 10 cm)
• Small — 2–4 serves (7 × 14 cm)
• Medium — 6–8 serves (7 × 21 cm)
• Large — 8–15 serves (14 × 21 cm)
• Grand — 15–25 serves (21 × 21 cm)
When in doubt, size up. Leftover cake is rarely a problem.
Mousse cakes love the fridge.
Our cakes are made with delicate mousse layers, carefully balanced to create a light yet indulgent dessert experience. Keeping them chilled helps maintain their texture, structure, and flavour.
For the best eating experience, take your cake out of the fridge 15-20 minutes before serving. This allows the flavours to open up and the texture to soften slightly, making every bite even more enjoyable.
Store your cake refrigerated at all times and return any leftovers to the fridge promptly.
A little patience before the first slice goes a long way.
Your cake’s journey matters too.
Canberra weather can be unpredictable, especially in summer.
We recommend keeping your cake flat, cool and avoiding leaving it in a warm car.
A little extra care on the way home helps ensure your cake arrives looking and tasting exactly as intended.
Please be on time for your pickup.
Every pickup time is carefully scheduled around our baking, deliveries, and personal commitments. Arriving on time helps us keep everything running smoothly and ensures your cake spends less time waiting outside its ideal storage conditions.
If you’re running late, a quick message is always appreciated.
Mutual respect goes a long way, and so does keeping your cake as fresh as possible.
Every cake needs time in the lab.
