My small business came into being many years ago when I began making cakes for family, friends and people in and around Canberra. All our sweet treats are made using the best and freshest ingredients and a lot of love goes into everything that we make. Whethe

Join us for our popular annual Scandinavian Christmas Bazaar!

Sunday, 30 November 2025 - 11 am till 4 pm
Albert Hall, 100 Commonwealth Ave, Yarralumla

Christmas markets, Scandinavian café, bar, entertainment, raffle and more! Everyone welcome. Entry by donation.

Programme:

11 am Market stalls and café open
12 noon Christmas Folk Dances
12:30 pm Christmas Folk Dances*
1 pm Christmas Songs with The Swedish Choir
1:30 pm Christmas Ring Dances (everyone welcome to join in)*
2 pm Lucia Procession with The Swedish Choir
2:30 pm Folk Dancing (everyone welcome to join in)*
3 pm Raffle Draw
4 pm Market stalls and café close
* on the outdoor terrace

As well as the entertainment, we have a great selection of stallholders with gifts, homewares and more. Most stalls take card payments but please note there is no ATM on site. Apart from the main hall, there will a community hub on the northern terrace - with more stalls, covered seating areas, an ice cream van and this year a bar serving beer, cider and wine!

I love it when people know what they want!
My beautiful nephew celebrated his 12th birthday this week and requested a 3-tier wedding style cake, with a photo topper of himself!

With just 10 people celebrating, this is a mini tiered cake in all vanilla, with tiers in 12cm, 10cm and 8cm rounds.

I LOVE make Norwegian kransekake, keeping traditions alive and allowing others to show how proud they are of their family and heritage.

In October I made this 36 ring kransekake, which traveled all the way to Melbourne for a wedding.
The couple decorated the in a very traditional style, and it was a true centerpiece at the reception ❤️🇳🇴

Our Story

You could say that food is an obsession for me. My grandfather was a brilliant chef and my grandmother and mother amazing cooks. Some of my earliest memories revolve around cooking, spending time in the kitchen helping with one thing or another.

When I finished school I followed in my grandfather’s footsteps and became a qualified chef, specialising in pastries and desserts. I worked in kitchens for over 10 years before finding myself within a corporate office environment, however my love for baking and all things sweet is such a huge part of my identity and so I’ve continued to make cakes, cupcakes and desserts throughout the years. Leaving my last office job in 2019, I’m so lucky that I can now focus on Sweet Dreams Desserts full-time.

My family moved from a small island community in Norway to Canberra in the 90’s so Scandinavian flavours and techniques influence a lot of what I create today, however most of my decorating skills are self-taught through reading, watching and experimenting. Over the years I have also been fortunate to attend a variety of workshops in both Canberra and Sydney where I've picked up tips and tricks for making the very best cakes.

Every thing I make is made using the best and freshest ingredients, combined with love, care and finesse. Whether you need sweets for Christenings, Birthdays, Weddings, Funerals, Valentines Day, Christmas or anything in between, I’ve got you covered! You never need an excuse to eat cake!!!
