FYI folks.

🚧 Paluma Road Night Works and Temporary Detour 🚧

Council will be undertaking essential road and infrastructure upgrades on Paluma Road, Cannonvale, between Shute Harbour Road and the Whitsunday Plaza access, from Friday 3 July to Tuesday 7 July 2026. To minimise disruption, works will occur nightly between 7pm and 5am.

These works include:
✅ Removal of an existing watermain valve on Paluma Road
✅ Traffic signal upgrades, including detector loops and radar systems
✅ Road resurfacing and new line marking at the Paluma Road and Shute Harbour Road intersection

What you need to know:
🔸 A signed detour will be in place via Galbraith Drive and Myer Lasky Drive during night works – from 7pm – 5am
🔸 A temporary bus stop will operate for night bus services
🔸 Access to neighbouring shopping centres will be maintained

We appreciate your patience while these important improvements are carried out and encourage motorists to allow a little extra travel time during the works.

Proud to be teaming up with Jubilee Tavern for something BIG. Literally. 🔥

🥩We’re building THE biggest meat tray Airlie Beach has ever seen (we reckon the biggest in QLD) - so big it needs a forklift to move it!

All to help raise funds and awareness for an incredible local organisation making a real difference in our community. ☀️

Whitsunday Su***de Prevention Network - WSPN is a local not-for-profit dedicated to su***de prevention, mental health awareness, community support, and creating safe spaces for people doing it tough. Their work helps connect people with support, start important conversations, and remind locals they’re never alone.

Want to know more? 🤔 Come along and see what this amazing organization is all about at their monthly breakfast tomorrow morning 6.30-7am out the front of ShirtFront Solutions. 🍳

Every dollar raised from this meat tray will go directly back into supporting their programs and the Whitsunday community. 🫶
