Happy Sunday! ☀️

This flower bunch is now out at our roadside stand today. This bunch features our first stem of statice grown right here on the farm. How exciting!

In our flower bunches yesterday we also had the first strawflowers for the season tucked in there.

Spring is definitely a season to be excited for!

Get excited! The strawflowers are starting to flower!

I love the strawflowers, it reminds me of the property where I grew up and I used to love wandering around in spring and collecting all of the wildflowers, especially the wild paper daisies. The texture was so unique to any other flower.

I am so excited for the coming weeks to add a different texture to my flower bunches.

Excuse me, but can we please take a moment for this magnolia flower! Oh my goodness, it is massive and smells divine 😍 Yes is has it's blemishes but originally I wanted to grow magnolia for it's foliage but as I went further into the research of this particular variety I read that the flowers are just as amazing!

I've had the tree in a large pot for the past few months and it is going ok, the insects love it though. I'm hoping to plant it in the ground towards the end of the upcoming wet season and hoping it will hold on until then!

Today at our roadside stand we will not only just have fresh flowers, but we will also have homegrown pumpkins and fox tail palms.

Stop on by, grab some flowers or a pumpkin and a palm too while you're at it! (Palms are free!)

Would you check out the stem on this snapdragon!

I am super happy with how the snapdragons are going this season. It was tough at the start back in April when the pests ate 3 trays of my snapdragon seedlings plus everything else! And it made me wonder if I would even get a snapdragon crop this season. But I just kept sowing seeds and finally I made it. Now to see how long the snapdragons survive before it gets too hot for them!

The past couple of days have definitely been delivering those spring vibes. The sun is quite hot to work out in, everything is becoming dry and crispy, more snakes are around and the sunflowers are absolutely loving the heat!

I am back at it with the seed saving again, this time I am saving amaranthus seeds.

These seeds will be used to plant next seasons flower crops. I find that saving my own seed is best with certain varieties as the plant then grows stronger and is more adjusted to our climate and conditions out here at Hydeaway Bay.

All of the flowers on our roadside stand are grown with care right here on our farm. How is that for local freshness?!
