International Rural Women’s Day is not only today, but everyday. I see you running the extra errands because you have the flexible juggling “job”, I see you raising kids, feeding everyone, making special moments magic, holding it together for everyone else, driving a tractor during harvest breastfeeding a baby with a toddler on the tractor floor eating snacks , I see you trying to make time for yourself but by the time everyone else is cared for- self care looks like a hot shower and bed by 9. You’re amazing & don’t let anyone make you think otherwise 💪 WE rise by lifting others- Rural, salt of the earth women- may we know them, raise them & be them.

October Avocado Report: Hass is starting to peak in maturity & flavour profile! Want the perfect avocado? For best flavour & texture, I can’t recommend enough to buy farm fresh avocados that are not gased to ripen. Let them slowly ripen on your countertop which allows the flavour to fully develop. Ripening on your countertop also increases your chances of eating the avocado at the perfect time because you notice it getting darker!

In the midst of the picking chaos for Hass season 2026, I can officially say Hass season 2027 has already started! That’s right, itty bitty baby fruit starts in spring & that Hass (do you see it) takes almost a year to be mature enough to pick & eat. The mature fruit that’s early stage ready in July to very mature fruit in February the next year.
