Keep it simple- Egg Bacon Pie & Avocado with a sprinkling of seed mix!

Egg Pie is fantastic- layer puff pastry, bacon, cheese & eggs like a lasagna & bake! It’s great warmed up for breakfast or lunch & is a great meal prep for the week.

🥑Avocado Update 🥑: Greenskin Season is peaking- Rincon Avocados are pretty much sold out(only smaller ones available), Bacon Avocados are peaking in their creamy yummy season & Im about 1/2 way through picking them- get them before they are also sold out, Fuerte Avocados are just starting to be picked- they are delicious & coming in large, & Hass is back! I have just started picking small batches of Hass- they’re fresh , nutty & beautiful! It’s a special time of year when all the varieties are available. I highly recommend you grab a sample of all of them!

In May I bought ALL my produce , pasta, eggs, some bread(some I make at home), cheeses, and olive oil , etc…from farmers markets from real people who make a living from growing / making food. I spent under $300.00 which I was positively surprised for the month, ate in season foods that were spray free or organic & got more out of this experiment than I expected. Every time I made a slaw from beautiful cabbages or peeled a potato I saw the person who grew it in my mind. I felt like I spent my money so much wiser vs going to a grocery store not knowing who grew this, what sprays have been on it, what cheap corners were cut to mass produce it. I also know that marketing & price dropping to win bids on where the grocery store buys from is based on how much markup is in it for them- how much short term profit is in it for them- that’s what happens with food in grocery stores because they have the selling platform to sell mass quantities!
🌽🥒 I can’t encourage you enough, especially in this time of economic crunch to commit to a month of buying local only- you’ll be surprised how far your food goes and how much value is in your decisions to buy local.
