Numbers remained steady this week, with 3,634 head yarded, comprising:

Quality was good throughout, featuring some outstanding pens of trade lambs, quality heavy weights and the usual runs of lighter lambs attracting strong restocker interest.

📈 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬
A full field of buyers was in attendance, with solid competition across all categories helping drive another strong market.
Trade and heavy lambs were the standout performers, with both categories recording 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 on last week's sale.

🐏 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐛 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭
Restocker lambs held firm, while trade lambs 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 $𝟭𝟬/𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱, supported by strong processor demand.
Heavy lambs also improved, 𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 $𝟴/𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱, with extra heavy weights reaching an impressive $375/head. Hoggets topped at $301/head.

🐑 𝐌𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭
Mutton numbers eased, with most grades selling to fully firm rates, with strong competition maintained throughout the sale.
Crossbred ewes sold to $320/head, while Merino wethers reached $285/head.

Numbers eased by around 500 head this week, with 2,253 cattle yarded, comprising:

Quality ranged from fair to good, with most categories well represented. Prime trade cattle were limited, however strong competition across feeder and restocker categories helped drive 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁.

📈 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬
Feeder demand remained extremely strong, with steers and heifers generally selling 𝟭𝟬𝗰 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗿, while young cattle returning to the paddock attracted some of the strongest competition of the day.

Restocker and backgrounder buyers pushed young steers to 669c/kg, while feeder steers reached 624c/kg, highlighting the 𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 in quality young cattle.

🐄 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 & 𝐂𝐨𝐰𝐬
Prime grown steers and heifers sold to firm rates, while cows continued their recent 𝘂𝗽𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱, lifting around 8c/kg. Heavy prime cows averaged 419c/kg, with strong processor demand evident throughout the cow market.

Heavy bulls sold to 429c/kg.

Today's CTLX Lamb & Sheep Sale saw a yarding of 5,038 head, comprising:
🔹 3,235 Lambs
🔹 312 Hoggets
🔹 1,400 Sheep

Lamb numbers eased this week and quality was not quite to the standard of recent sales, with fewer well-finished lines on offer and an increase in lighter Merino lambs throughout the yarding.

📈 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒕 𝑯𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔
Despite the smaller yarding and mixed quality, buyer competition remained solid across all categories, helping the market hold firm.

Trade lambs continued to attract strong processor demand, while heavy lambs improved slightly on last week's rates. Restocker interest remained active, although lighter lambs were generally easier.

🐏 𝑳𝒂𝒎𝒃 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒕
Heavy trade lambs sold from $284 to $320/head, while heavy lambs gained $4 to $5/head, selling to $330/head. Extra heavy lambs topped at $341/head.

🐑 𝑴𝒖𝒕𝒕𝒐𝒏 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒕
Mutton quality improved, with several good lines of heavy sheep on offer. Prices lifted $8 to $10/head across most categories, supported by strong processor competition.

Heavy first cross ewes sold to $340/head, while Merino wethers continued to attract solid demand.

Quality ranged from fair to good, with all categories well represented and a full field of buyers in attendance, resulting in another strong market.

Demand for well-bred young cattle remained extremely strong, with restockers and backgrounders driving competition across the lighter categories. Feeder steers were considerably dearer, while feeder heifers held firm. Prime yearlings generally sold to firm rates despite limited numbers being available.

Heavy grown steers remained firm, while heavy heifers sold to solid competition. Cow prices continued their recent strength, with processor and restocker demand helping maintain a strong market. Heavy prime cows averaged over 410c/kg, while bulls sold to firm processor competition.
