We are seeking a hands on ‘Vineyard Hand’ to join our team with day to day vineyard operations.

The successful candidate must be able to work unsupervised and as part of a team, reporting to the vineyard owner.

Previous experience and practical knowledge of vineyard operations, machine operation / maintenance will be favourable.

Blefari wines is a small family owned vineyard located in Carey Gully in the picturesque Piccadilly Valley.

We are seeking a full time hands on ‘Vineyard Hand’ to join our team to help with day to day vineyard operations.

The successful candidate must be able to work unsupervised and as part of a team, reporting to the vineyard owner.

Previous experience and practical knowledge of vineyard operations, machine operation / maintenance will be required.

Qualifications & Experience
———
• previous experience in viticulture
• ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
• current Australian drivers licence
• chemical certificate
• forklift licence
• first aid training
• mechanical aptitude
• must be an Australian resident or have permanent residency status in Australia
• genuine passion for the industry

Tasks & Responsibilities
————
• complete fertigation and irrigation applications
• assist in maintaining / operating automated irrigation systems and carrying out minor repairs
• vineyard machinery operation and maintenance - tractors, harvester and implements
• work with the team to complete all seasonal vine maintenance - pruning, trellis repairs, new plantings, grape harvest and general vineyard tasks
• soil management, pest and disease monitoring
• building a safe work culture / adhering to OH&S standards - company policies and procedures

An attractive salary package will be offered to the successful applicant commensurate with experience

Making wine the ‘family way’ will usually begin with a bottle of wine, a hearty meal and the delegation of duties - destemming, crushing (always the traditional way foot stomping) and then fermentation…

Standing proud in our tasting room are these beautiful old demijohns used to store the ‘family wine’.
