Bumbak & Sons is a table grape property set on the banks of the Gascoyne River in Carnarvon, Western Australia. Bumbak & Sons specialises in the growing of seedless grapes with an emphasis on new high flavour varieties.

Warm Pacific to a Winter Frost!

A small group of PALM workers from Bumbak’s have spent the last six weeks pruning at a vineyard in the South of Western Australia and got to experience their very first frost!

A foggy drive to work…. the ground covered in ice, cut grape canes frozen! No doubt some very cold hands, a few laughs and many photos and videos shared with family and friends in Tonga

The PALM Scheme is not just an opportunity to work, but learn new skills, build new relationships, experience new things and travel to new places.

This was definitely a new experience that will never be forgotten ❄️❄️❄️

Pruning may be finished but there is still plenty to keep everyone busy….. like repairing this section of windbreak… stitching by hand, sun shining ☀️ music playing 🎶 job done ✅

CONGRATULATIONS 🥳

Hopefully this was the last week of work under the PALM scheme for Daniel and Kisito.

They both were selected in the PEV (Pacific Engagement Visa) ballot which gives them the opportunity to apply for a visa allowing them to bring their family to Australia and provides them with full work rights.

Both are very keen to call Carnarvon home and become long term members of our community.

Their applications are in and now we wait.
