Camden valley farm

RANT AHEAD! Farming doesnt happen 9-5. If you want to live in the rural area, there are sights, sounds and smells that come along with the farm. Our plan was to bale this tomorrow but a last minute change in the forecast means we are out here tonight trying to beat any rain, which inconvienienced one of our neighbours, any rain on this feed would destroy it.

If your plate had food on it tonight a farmer somewhere probably lost some sleep to put it there.

Today we started chopping our lucerne crop. We bought this chopper 2 years ago much to Jess' disgust, and finally I can prove it was worth it.

That piece of grass will become tomorrows milk, which will be bottled on friday morning and avaliable at the markets on saturday. Hows that for grass to glass!!! Saturdays milk is bought to you by the second paddock on the left.

The general order of things may have fallen apart while Luke is away, like bike riding chickens, but the cows are thriving under Jess' supervision. We still have plenty of milk and the shop will be open from 6am sunday morning

Some of you will remember meagan travelled half way across the country last year to compete in dairy cow competitions in brisbane and adelaide. Well she is just a few weeks off calving and joining the milking herd again.
