We have some of the best cafes in the country (even the world, depending on who you ask!) with dedicated baristas offering us our daily dose of bliss in a cup. As a nation we consume 6 billion cups of coffee every year. That’s a lot of coffee waste! Our love affair with coffee is damaging the environment. Bean Cycled is attempting to change this for Newcastle. We can stop 900kg of coffee waste fro

m ending up in landfill each week. We’re using it to grow oyster mushrooms locally and sustainably with thanks to The GPT Group’s Charlestown Square and participating retailers.
