What better way to celebrate National Lamington Day than with a gold medal winning lamington? 🥇

At this year's Perth Royal Food Awards - Bread & Pastry competition, took home the only gold medal awarded in the Lamington category. There's something wonderfully fitting about an Irish bakery mastering one of Australia's most iconic classics. With traditional baking methods, quality ingredients and plenty of craftsmanship, Connells has proven that great baking knows no borders.

If you've been looking for an excuse to make a bakery run, this is it. Start with the lamington, but don't be surprised if you leave with a loaf of soda bread and a sausage roll for good measure! 🤤

The Wine competition is boasting a trophy unlike any other 🏆

This year, the inaugural Trophy for Best Australian Chenin Blanc will be awarded as a handcrafted 55L Tava Ceramic Amphora, a premium winemaking vessel used by producers around the world.

Crafted in Italy using high quality natural clay and designed with low porosity levels to control the freshness and acidity of the wine inside, this premium amphora is more than a trophy. It's a working winemaking vessel designed to inspire future vintages and continue the story of excellence in Australian Chenin Blanc.

The exhibitor that enters a Chenin Blanc with the highest-ranked gold medal in the competition will be awarded this exquisite amphora.

Thank you to Bouchard Cooperages for their support in providing this incredible trophy to the Wine competition.
