With the season in CQ turning quickly we used one of the greatest levers a breeder has, weaning early. Last week we started our weaning program about a month earlier than was planned. first up our two-year-old first calvers, these mums took a little convincing that I could look after their babies as well as they could. Eventually they agreed.

After being away, I’ve come home on the due date of last years AI program. About half have calved already, it will be exciting to see these grow.

One of the most pleasing parts of being in the genetics game is talking to people who have used these genetics and had good results, and they come along to your sale to purchase more.
Many thanks to the repeat buyers who attended the Belmont Red Association bull and females sale today, your support was very much appreciated.
Another pleasing thing is meeting new buyers who are just starting the journey with the breed. A big thank you to you too.

Happy this bull is off to Greenhills Belmont Red Stud and fitting that he was the top priced bull.
We take home a few bulls and the sale average was down on last year but happy to see them go to good homes.
