The numbers matter.

But what they really represent is time, trust, labour, ideas, partnerships, setbacks, persistence — and thousands of small decisions made in favour of the future.

Thanks to all of our partners ReForest Now, Wildbnb Wildlife Habitat, WWF-Australia, Local Land Services NSW (North Coast), NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Climate Friendly, our hard working team and anyone else who has stopped by, pitched in or put forth ideas.

What does the future of agriculture look like?

Last week at the North Coast Farmers Forum held at Banyula, Kirsty and Oscar from Farms of the Future demonstrated VR farm tour technology from their mobile learning centre bus — affectionately known as Rocky.

This technology allows farmers and land managers to step virtually onto different properties, explore management practices and share knowledge in a far more immersive way than traditional workshops alone.

A great example of practical innovation supporting Australian agriculture.

Feed the microbes and the microbes will feed the plants! A little summary of Dr Susan Orgill's talk at the North Coast Farmers Forum today. Such a great day with many interesting speakers. Thanks to Local Land Services () for organising it all and Costa Georgiadis Official for the entertainment and inspiration. Please share this information to "feed" the community.

Trust in sustainability doesn’t come from perfect results. It comes from transparent decision-making. Sharing what worked, what didn’t, and what adjustments were made. This creates credibility with stakeholders who understand complexity.

In regenerative projects, uncertainty isn’t a weakness - it’s a condition of working with living systems.

If you want to hear about the decisions being made while regenerating Banyula, come along to the workshops, held as part of the North Coast Farming Forum, this Thursday and Friday.

Banyula's Orchard Manager Carly Green will be speaking about 'Integrated Orchard Management: re-establishing natural systems for productivity', Director Matt Bleakley will be speaking, along with the crew from WWF-Australia, about carbon markets and our CEO Josh Wellman will be speaking about 'Restoring function: soil health and landscape rehydration in practice'. Carly and Josh will be conducting their talks in the field.

This is a Government Local Land Services event.

Looking forward to hearing from Ben Herington from WWF-Australia at the North Coast Farmers Forum this week which will be held here at Banyula.

Ben will be talking about 'Koala Friendly carbon plantings in practice'.

Meanwhile, his colleague Tanya Pritchard has reportedly been given very clear instructions from her children: she is not allowed to retire until the koalas are saved.

No pressure.

Let's hope the other farmers decide to give them a bit of a hand.

Just a reminder that the 'North Coast Farming Forum: Climate Smart Agriculture', will be held on May 7–8 at Banyula.

Delivered by North Coast Local Land Services, the two-day forum brings together local farmers, industry experts and advisors to share real-world strategies for managing climate variability, improving productivity and building long-term resilience.

North Coast Local Land Services General Manager, Alison Bowman, said the forum comes at a critical time for the region:

“...This forum is about helping farmers get ahead of those challenges with practical, locally relevant information they can apply straight away - not theory or policy.”
