We upgraded this bush bridge with the help of a very talented neighbour.

This gully crossing is part of the system we installed to protect our creek frontage from erosion. The bush bridge is at the bottom of a gully planted out with endemic rainforest species to bind the soil. The bridge slows water that runs off the hills, previously carrying precious soil into the creek. Its porous foundation of logs allows water to seep underneath. The pipes are a backup in extreme weather - they prevent water flowing over the road.

It's so satisfying to do this work, knowing it helps the land, the creek and - just a short distance away - Bermagui River.

Congratulations Heather Anderson - third time winner of the Cobargo Tomato Challenge, 2024, 2025 and 2026! Congrats also to runner up Tammie Jee. Great to see lots of entries in this section - the challenge is to enter a trio of home-made tomato products. They look delicious. See you all again next year.

Those swales we fixed up a few months back. Now they're doing what swales do best: slowing down and moving water so it hydrates pastures, reducing erosion and - incidentally - being a super highway for eastern long-knecked turtles :-)

It was the perfect day for some farm care. Our swales have helped us repair pasture and prevent erosion over the past five years - today they were due for some TLC. And as we spread grass seed on the banks, the rain came right on cue. Talk about instant gratification :-)

It's Cute Calf Monday! Our last arrival of the season is a beautiful Speckle Park - Angus - Poll Hereford cross (The spotty one in these photos). Soon, we'll be looking for a new home for our breeding herd - hopefully all to one farm.
