Hello friends,

Just a. Quick post to share this very cool little nest I found in our house block this week. I am pretty sure it belonged a family of resident butcher birds. What was interesting was to note the use of our self shedding sheep’s discarded wool to line the base. A beautiful and practical addition to the nest by the parents.

In addition we still have heaps of blueberries left. So if you want to come and pick some give me a call or text me to book in a time to visit. The fruit is super sweet. For those that are interested it is our Tiff Blue variety. At its best this time of the year. Pics taken this week. John

Hello friends,

well we have walked the orchard after today’s picking effort (thank you everyone) and have decided that once again we will need to close the orchard until Feb to allow the remaining blueberries to ripen fully.

We still have a lot of fruit and would love to have you come and visit us in Feb to pick them. We feel that the orchard will benefit with a rest and that you only get premium quality berries to harvest.

Please message me in the first week of Feb to make a time to call in and grab the last of the seasons berries.

Thanks for all the love and support this season. It genuinely means the world to us.

Best. John

Well it was somewhat of an on and off again rain day today. I want to thank the stoic pickers that came to visit in the cool and moist conditions.

Tomorrow and the rest of the week is looking better. Still plenty of quality fruit on offer. Hope to see you soon.

Hello friends. Thanks for your patience. We will open in the morning!

It is amazing what a few cooler days, 130 mm of very much needed rain and a rest from picking can do to revitalise the orchard. I have just taken these pics this afternoon and we are good to go.

Still some great picking with plenty of blueberries with some differing varieties looking and tasting great right now.

We will open the orchard tomorrow from 10 am to 2 pm and will remain open every day until the end of Jan or until the blueberries are picked.

Hope to see you soon.

John

Hello friends

Just a quick post to advise that we are closing the farm to pick your own for the next week as the very much needed rain heads our way.

The orchard still has lots of great fruit and will benefit from a brief rest to ripen to optimum quality for you.

Hope to reopen early next week weather permitting. Thanks for your patience and apologies in advance if you had plans to visit us this week.

Will keep you updated via socials.

Karma - A pretty cool thing happened at the farm recently. A customer named Jack called in to buy some pre packaged blueberries. He then gave me some money to pay for another 500 gram pre packaged blueberry box and told me that he wanted to pay this forward as someone had randomly paid for his lunch earlier that day in Moruya.

A short time later another lucky customer got the surprise of her day when we refused payment for her blueberries and gifted her the box as requested.

What was nice about the whole thing is that someone’s random act of kindness in Moruya manifested itself in a Blueberry farm paddock shop and the last recipient also stated that she has to pay it forward now too.

In a time in the world where the news is often bleak it was really nice to be part of something random and inspiring that brought joy to others.

Hello friends. Great news the orchard has rested and the fruit has ripened beautifully. Heaps of great picking available. These pics taken this afternoon.

We will open earlier from this Friday at 9 am in an effort to try to beat the heat. It will be HOT on Friday so please be mindful about that and factor that into your planning. Hours are 9 am to 2 pm.

The signs and flags will be out. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

Wow! Just wow. To say we have been inundated is an understatement. Thanks so much to all our beautiful blueberry friends for your business and custom. We love sharing the farm with you all.

Unfortunately we have to close the farm early today and for the next week to allow the unripe fruit to ripen for picking. We will open again on Friday 9 Jan.

Appreciate your understanding. We have increased the orchard capacity to meet demand however it will take some time to come through.

Thank you. John

Hello friends.

Well if anyone ever wondered how do we prepare the beds for the blueberry bushes wonder no more. We use a 50 year old tractor and an even older rotary how to rip up and turn over the ground. We then mound it up with a Moulder board plough. We plant, fertilise and mulch and in about 4 years we will harvest delicious blueberries.

Come and check out all the hard work in Dec/Jan.
