It kinda feels like a wedding - an enormous amount of work for a few hours of โshow timeโ and then itโs done!
Thank you to those who purchased or bid on our cattle. We genuinely appreciate your support and faith in our program.
To our vendors - thank you for being what makes Hot Spot the leading multi-vendor Speckle Park sale in the country (IMHO). The genuine camaraderie and team work is second to none. Collectively, you once again put up a fantastic offering and should all be proud.
To the Ivery Downs team including our friends and family - we could not do Hot Spot without you. Itโs a well oiled machine and you all carry such a load to help us pull it altogether. We love and appreciate each and every one of you.
Debbie Black and Brooke Paff - you guys go above and beyond every time, not just helping with particular jobs, but doing a great job of keeping me (kind of) sane.
To everyone who wished us well for the day or supported the event in anyway, recognising the purpose of the event for so many in the breed, sincerely, thank you.
With all that being said, Iโm not W***y Wonka, Iโm not going to sugar coat it - it was a tough day in the office. And to be perfectly honest, itโs frustrating to know that we have a ridiculously high demand for Speckle Park beef that we are struggling to supply through our own cattle and others yet, uptake on bulls is still slow. Whatโs even more frustrating is knowing that by the time more people cotton on and get on board, it is very possible demand will have dwindled because of that lack of supply in the meantime. Itโs a classic case of leading a horse to water โฆ
Anyway, as we always do, we will keep pushing ahead because we have absolute faith in this breed and position it deserves in the Australian meat industry.
Baby steps are still steps.

The dust has settled (literally) and Hot Spot is done for another year. Weโre extremely proud of the quality presented and grateful for the support shown across the offering.
Most importantly, congratulations to our vendors. Once again, they brought forward a strong and diverse draft of cattle and, just as importantly, worked together as a genuine team throughout the lead-up and sale. That spirit has always been one of the things we value most about Hot Spot.

A sincere thank you to every bidder and buyer who supported the sale, whether in person or online. We wish you every success with your purchases and look forward to following their progress.
Thank you also to ๐๐๐ซ๐ค ๐๐๐ก๐จ๐ฅ๐๐ฌ for calling the sale and to the team at ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ for their work as selling agents. As always, our sincerest thanks to the entire Ivery Downs team who put in an enormous effort behind the scenes to help get Hot Spot 2026 across the line.
A huge amount of work goes into putting this event together each year. We do it because we believe there is real value in creating a place where fellow breeders can bring quality cattle together, present them professionally and give buyers the opportunity to compare a genuinely diverse offering in one location.
To everyone who played a part in Hot Spot 2026, thank you. ๐ฅ
