New header tank is in — and naturally Rembrandt and the crew had to give it the once-over!

Next step is the concrete slab, then we’ll trench and run the pipework back to the dam. An MGT pump will transfer water from the dam up to the header tank, giving us a reliable stored water supply where we need it.

From the tank, the big 100mm fitting with 90mm outlet will feed a custom-designed pump using MGT magnetic gears and couplings. That system will distribute water across the farm for two permanent fire hoses, sprinklers, cattle troughs and irrigation.

We’ve also installed a dedicated 65mm RFS outlet, providing direct access to the tank in a fire emergency.

Another big piece of the plan coming together — building The Gallery Farm to be more drought, fire and flood resilient, while demonstrating how MGT technology can work in a real farming environment.

Woohoo — the new cattle yards have arrived at The Gallery Farm! 🐂🙌
What was supposed to be a fairly straightforward delivery turned into a bit of a logistical exercise. 😂 The two semis couldn't make the final 5 km into our place, so we came up with Plan B — two car trailers shuttling the yards into the farm while we kept one of the semis and its forklift nearby to unload everything. A big day, but we got the bloody lot here!
The new Red River yards and G-Force system are now fully assembled in a temporary position beside the old dairy bales. We deliberately decided to put the complete system together before pouring the concrete so we can use it, make sure we're completely happy with the layout and get exact measurements from the actual installed yards before the slab goes down.
Once the slab is finished, the whole system will move across into its permanent position between the old dairy and the big tractor/work shed. Eventually it will all be under roof and integrated with the weighing, NLIS and livestock-recording equipment we're setting up.
It's been a long time planning this next stage of the farm, so standing back and seeing these yards finally assembled was pretty bloody exciting. They're a serious bit of gear and should make handling the cattle safer, quieter and much easier for both us and the animals.

There’s something pretty special about walking out across the paddock and having the girls come over to say hello.

Quiet cattle, beautiful country and a cracking morning sky. Hard to think of anywhere else we'd rather be.

This is what farming is all about for us — knowing our cattle, earning their trust and simply enjoying having them around.

Meet Rembrandt — the gentle giant of The Gallery Farm.

We are absolutely stoked with how this magnificent boy has developed. He is powerful, deep-bodied and incredibly broad through the hindquarters, but it’s his temperament that makes us proudest.

Rembrandt is always watching over his girls. When the herd moves, he stays at the back and follows them in, making sure everyone is accounted for. Despite his size and strength, with us he is simply a big teddy bear.

The photos show his power. The video shows his true character—calm, trusting and completely content grazing beside us.

Everything we could want in our herd sire. ❤️🐂
