Wattle Cottage A tiny urban 2 acre farm growing,
* flowers for drying, everlastings
* berries and fruits for delicious jams
*homegrown, chemical free garlic

To help others in their backyard adventures our stall, Homegrown @ Wattle Cottage can be found during Autumn and Spring at local markets. We grow and sell a variety of seasonal heirloom veg seedlings and herb plants, dried flowers, as well as occassional produce, all from our own backyard! We are hoping to soon include on farm sales.........

Time to check through the seed box and see what else needs planting!🌱🌱🌱
For almost ten years at this time of the year I was busy planting veggie seeds, now its flower seeds. After some health issues hit me in 2023, I gradually slowed down with my market veg seedlings and turned more to flowers, everlastings.....💐
Looking forward to getting back to markets later in Spring. You can still pick up some of our everlasting posys at The Olde General Store....

🌻Spring is getting closer and Im excited by how well my flower plants are growing..so far! This is the first time I have had plants in so early, usually only just getting seeds in...😂
Statice, winged everlasting, strawflowers, bunny tails and even some wheat are just some of the varieties growing🌱🌱🌱

🐓 All enjoying this glorious winter sunshine today and this SUNFLOWER!! This sunflower self seeded under our loquat tree and has contined to grow, and now flower.... Obviously the trees canopy is enough to protect it from the frosts!

🌻 One tip I often give customers when they buy a posy of everlastings is, keep them away from moisture! Did I think about that when I left bunches of daisy hanging in the shed!!!! Fog, rain, dews and cloudy cold days all crepted in and grew some lovely mould all over the flowers.... Note to self, dry any flowers in the house during winter....
Lucky the fresh flower season is not too far away! 👩‍🌾🏵

🌱 I potted on some trial ranunculus that I started from seed. Not sure how they will grow, but fun to try.
🌻 Some how these sunflowers are continuing to grow, they even have buds on them..
🫛The peas are podding up..
🌱Cauliflowers are growing well
🍊Our little orange tree has produced over forty oranges this year!
🌱Mini bottle gourds hang as decoration in the garden...
