The old boy flicked a line out for a silver whiting while we did a bit of maintenance and line adjusting this morning... I grabbed a crab that tried to grab me... Oysters are in as good a condition as I can remember seeing in February...

Franklin Harbour seafood basket on the menu tonight!

It's really exciting to see the marine life back to a level where we feel comfortable doing a bit of hunting and gathering again. Seeing plenty of good-sized whiting, and lots of smaller crabs on the lease, comforting sights after last year's grim scenes.

Had the oyster bar out at Blackwood Golf Course on Friday for the Scotch Old Collegians Golf Day. Alongside Woodstock Wines, we had a perfect refreshment station set up on the 14th.

I'd love to do more golf days, flick us an inquiry if you’ve got an event coming up without an oyster bar organised, we’ll see what we can do to rectify that...

Oysters are looking pretty good! Most have spawned out and recovered now, some are still holding onto their spawn. This is about what we'd expect to see at this time of year, which is comforting after a very disrupted 2025

After the four hardest months of my time as an oyster farmer, December has been absolutely wild.

Four weeks out from Christmas we got the all-clear to resume sales out of Franklin Harbour... And resume sales we did! Something in the order of 4500 dozen out the door and around the country for Jet Oysters, and another 2500 doz delivered to Adelaide on the Christmas run...

We've done a wedding and gigs with the oyster bar at Pirate Life and Woodstock Wines, it's felt really good to be putting our own oysters over the bar again. I'd like to thank our mates at Smoky Bay Oysters in Smoky and Angel Oysters in Coffins for supplying their delicious product to keep FHOCo. alive while we were shut down.

Waking up this morning to messages from people who finally sat down last night and officially started their Christmas with fresh oysters is pretty cool... Amid the chaos it can be easy to forget that our product is something pretty special, and thinking about the 7000 dozen hand-picked oysters that I've put on Christmas celebration tables and the joy that they bring is really heartwarming.

It's about doing cool s**t with cool people, and for the next couple of weeks I'm going to turn the phone off and enjoy a well-earned break with my family and friends to rest, recharge, and get ready to throw myself at 2026.

Cheers!

❤️🦪

Can't wait to roll the oyster bar out at Pirate Life HQ this weekend... Friday from 5pm we're at the Barlow Street Christmas Twilight Markets alongside a heap of legendary small businesses - get on down and get some sweet stocking fillers, all while keeping your spending money local!

Then we're back on Saturday at lunchtime to dish a few oysters out and enjoy a couple of frothies in the beer garden!

Back on the belt! For the first time since July we have a pallet of oysters going out. Feels gooood, man!

Congratulations to Sophie and Andrew on their wedding yesterday! Thanks for trusting us to kick-start cocktail hour with 30 dozen freshly shucked oysters.

A guest was lucky enough to find a pearl in one of the oysters, which has now found its way to the newlyweds. That's the second pearl I've seen in our oysters at a wedding!

I'd love to get the oyster bar out to more weddings, it's a great way to treat your guests to something a bit special... Flick us a DM if you're interested and we can see what we can arrange!

WE'RE BACK!

We're rolling the oyster bar down to Pirate Life HQ next Friday (12/12) for the Barlow Street Christmas Markets, and hanging around for the Saturday (13/12) to flick some lids and enjoy a few ales in the beer garden.

Oysters and IPAs, it just don't get no better'n that!
