These oysters spent two years growing in Franklin Harbour. Two summers, when the February dodge tides leave them out of the water and under the sun for over 24 hours. Two winters, where the full moon in June keeps them submerged in the swirling cold plunge for a full week. Shaped by the waves in the Autumn storms, and finally, hand picked by me and opened in front of you so that for just a couple of seconds you can close your eyes and be transported directly to the ocean.

October is going to be wild!

Kicking off with a Sunday Session at McLaren Vale Distillery on the 4th. 2-for-1 cocktails, just quietly...

We’ll be slinging ‘sters alongside a range of serious sour beers at Little Bang Brewery for Inverterpalooza on the 10th before dishing out oysters on entry at South Australian Style’s Fashion Week Wrap Party on the 11th.

Then the big one! CheeseFest 2026, our fifth year at the event and we’re bringing a bigger menu than ever before. Tickets still available, don’t miss the tastiest weekend of the year!

Showgrounds Farmers Markets on the 25th, you know the drill... Freshly shucked oysters, farm gate prices.

Finally, to round the month out we’re setting The Shuck Shack up for the first time at Gilles at the Grounds on the 31st!

Bring it on. FHOCo. worldwide, baby.

A few snaps over the last couple of weeks...

Winter is over! Big Spring on the cards... You'll find us at McLaren Vale Distillery on the first Sunday of the month, the Showgrounds Farmers Markets on the fourth Sunday of the month, Cheesefest on the 17th/18th of October, and keep an eye out for a couple of gigs we're working on in between!

It's International Oyster Day today, but every day is oyster day around here...

It's also Dad's birthday. 63 today, and despite explicit instructions to have a sleep in, he was at the shed at 7am... Here he is inspecting our latest batch of spat because he wouldn't let me leave him at home while we went out on the boat.
