Craigie Knowe Vineyard

Craigie Knowe Vineyard Craigie Knowe is the oldest vineyard on east coast Tasmania. Home of Flora’s Restaurant. The beautiful 1830's cottage was also renovated.

With stunning scenery, we offer a unique wine and food experience, in Cranbrook, 15 minutes north of Swansea on the way to Freycinet National Park and Wineglass Bay. Craigie Knowe Vineyard was established in 1979 by then Hobart dentist John Austwick. John lovingly planted the vines across 5 Ha making his wine on site until he made the difficult decision to sell his beloved vineyard in 2009. The ne

w owner extensively renovated the vineyard, installing frost protection and renewing the trellis system. Only two vintages were produced by this new owner leaving the vines unattended during 2011 and 2012. Glenn and Sandy purchased the vineyard in 2013, and like John, love Craigie with the same passion and enthusiasm John had...his legacy continues. We, along with our son Alex, have worked hard to bring the vineyard back to health and vitality. Our wine is now made off site, allowing us to concentrate on our vines so we can bring you the best wine possible. We are proud and excited to finally be presenting our gorgeous wines.
2015 Riesling - available now
2015 Pinot Noir (Bronze Medal Royal Hobart Wine Show) - available now
2016 Riesling (Elite Gold Medal Canberra International Wine Show) - available soon

Our 2015 Cabernet, and 2016 Cabernet and Pinot are still in barrel and coming along beautifully. We are open by appointment for tasting, vineyard tours and lunch platters. 24 hours notice is required. Please email us at [email protected] for all purchases and enquiries.

For the ones who always gave more.
Join us this Mother’s Day (May 10) for lunch and enjoy a complimentary sharing dessert.

Our take on S’mores,
house-made marshmallow balanced with chocolate, Tasmanian pepperberry, and vanilla ice cream.

A little sweetness for the early winter days.
A special dessert, made to share with someone special 🤍

🔥 FLANNY DAY UPDATE — PLEASE READ THIS 🔥

We are absolutely blown away by the response to Flanny Day — seriously, you legends have gone all in 😏

Because of the huge interest (and the fact we’re still a good old country pub, not a stadium), we need to put a few things in place to make sure everyone has a great day:

📞 If you’re planning on coming, PLEASE call Troy at the pub on 0456 539 809 to check in first

We’ve got limited space and limited catering — and we want to do this properly, not have people missing out or going hungry.

🚪 Entry will be strictly “first in, best dressed”
Once we hit capacity, we’re really sorry but we won’t be able to let anyone else in.

We hate turning people away, so help us help you — give Troy a quick call before you make the trip.

Thanks heaps for the support and understanding… it’s shaping up to be one hell of a day 🔥

🍃A: The green patches! Almost as soon as the grapes come off, the leaves start to turn colour.

🍇 Currently we still have our Cabernet blends and Riesling left to pick.

FREE LIVE MUSIC 🎶🔥
As part of their Tassie tour (including stops at MONA and Republic Bar), Minnie and The Moonrakers are bringing their electrifying sound to Craigie Knowe on Saturday 16 May.
Expect raw, high-energy rhythm & blues—gritty, soulful, and impossible to ignore. Fronted by the powerhouse vocals of Siobhan “Minnie” O’Brien, this is live music with real bite. Think searing guitars, driving bass, and rhythms that hit deep. The kind of show where the music takes over and the crowd comes alive.
They’ve lit up stages across Australia—from festivals to Melbourne Food & Wine Festival and the iconic The Blues Train—and built a reputation for seriously fun, unpredictable performances.
✨ PLUS support from Jacob Boote (NW Tasmania), delivering neo-traditional blues with a roaring 1920s delta edge—slide guitar, soul, and serious musicianship.
🍷 Food, wine, beer & more

Cape Grim Bulgogi Beef Rillettes + Marrow
Crafted from seolleongtang, a slow-simmered milky bone broth, reimagined as deeply rich, delicate rillettes that melt effortlessly on the palate.

The same broth enriches our brioche, creating a naturally lactose-free bread with remarkable depth.
A refined expression of modern Tasmanian with Asian flair.
