Preparing the boys for joining at Markdale.

The rams are getting a daily ration of lupins to boost their protein and get them into peak condition before meeting the ewes.

You could say they’re on a pretty serious pre-season training program… although they seem to think it’s more of an all-you-can-eat buffet.

This week at Markdale we weaned the calves and trucked them up to a fresh paddock away from their mothers.

For the next little while they’ll be hand fed in the yards each day while they get used to life on their own.

It makes the mornings a bit noisier… but the views are a whole lot cuter. 🐮
