🌱Everything you touched today started with a farmer.

In the dark before sunrise, in the red soil of the Cudgen Plateau, in the hands that plant, harvest and pack, they keep showing up.

Long before the shelves, the school lunches, the coffees and the family dinners… there’s a farmer.

This reel is for the people who keep this country moving quietly - coated in humility and never asking for applause.

The backbone of this country, can’t bring us down.
Share this with a farmer 🤎🌱

🤎Thank you Sam Thompson for putting our feelings into song lyrics.

🌱Crop rotation means we only ever earn an income from half our farm at any one time. Think about that for a moment.

On the Tweed, where land comes at a premium, that’s not always the easiest farming practice - but it’s one we believe in. Rotating crops protects our soil health, balances nutrients and naturally reduces pests and disease, ensuring strong yields while the quality we are renowned for always remains paramount.

This week we welcomed a group of Year 12 Agriculture students from The Southport School (TSS) to the farm - the next generation of ag leaders already asking the right questions.

Currently studying agriculture as part of their HSC, the boys were especially keen to dive into our crop rotation systems and the role they play in building soil health and long term sustainability. They arrived well prepared, already knowing about our Coles Nurture Fund journey, and were excited to hear firsthand how the new design will shape the future of our farming operations.

Matthew spent time with them out in the paddock amongst freshly planted crops, before heading into the shed to see the packing line in full swing, a real paddock to plate snapshot of what we do every day.

Lunch was sorted by our stellar team at Thirteen Coffee + Eats, giving the boys a proper taste of Cudgen before the bus rolled out.

Education is everyone’s responsibility. We’ll always share what we’ve learned - because stronger knowledge today builds a more sustainable future tomorrow. 🤎

Proud to be standing here recognized amongst the top 3 horticulture agricultural businesses in the country along with some Coles representatives who we work with to supply Australia with some of the best sweet potatoes.

The horticulture category was won by for their forward thinking approach to agriculture and we celebrate their leading success in the leaf vegetable industry. Congratulations to the entire Tripod Farmers group.

Whilst we don’t have any hardware to add to the dust laden shelf back in Cudgen, we are so incredibly proud to be honoured for our efforts to innovatiion, sustainability & productivity. 🍠

One of just three finalists in the Horticulture category. A powerful reminder that sustainable agriculture, commitment to your craft, and decades of hard work are, and always will be, the foundation of real success.

What our grandfather started here 75 years ago lives on. A moment that honours where we’ve come from and why we keep going.

✈️ Melbourne, Cudgen is coming!

Ever wondered what knocks and bumps show up on the tough surface of a sweet potato? 🤔

Meet SmartSpud 🥔 🤓

It’s a potato shaped sensor that runs through harvesters and pack sheds just like the real thing. It mimics a sweet potato in shape, size and weight and it’s smarter than us all.

SmartSpud tells growers:
👉 where sweet potatoes get knocked
👉 where skins get damaged
👉 and how small handling changes can stop it happening

📝What we’re learning is simple:
• Dry soil at harvest = more skin damage
• Drops, hard surfaces and fast transitions matter
• Small tweaks can save a lot of good spuds

Less damage. Less waste. Better quality.
Good for growers. Good for customers. 🌱
