Roemahkita Poll Merino Stud is an award-winning, leading dual-purpose Poll Merino stud on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula, breeding large-framed, easy-care sheep with exceptional wool quality and strong fertility. Situated just outside Cummins in a reliable mixed farming district with approximately 450-500mm of annual rainfall, Roemahkita focuses on producing profitable, resilient rams that perfo

rm across a wide range of environments. Owned and operated by the Watson family, Roemahkita is led by third-generation commercial Merino breeders with deep roots on the Eyre Peninsula and a strong focus on long-term genetic progress and supporting commercial producers. We combine traditional visual classing with modern technology to select genetics that deliver long-term value, and we work closely with our clients to support their breeding goals. As commercial Merino breeders ourselves, we understand the importance of ongoing partnership and practical, results-driven genetics. The 2026 sale team is starting to take shape, and we couldn't be happier with the quality coming through.

We have been extremely impressed with the depth, consistency and overall quality of this year's young rams, making the selection process particularly challenging.

At Roemahkita, our focus remains on breeding profitable, highly fertile and resilient dual-purpose sheep, with the structural correctness and wool quality required to deliver profitable outcomes for commercial producers. It is exciting to see these objectives reflected so strongly throughout this year's drop.

We’re thrilled with how our lambs are looking at lamb marking this week!
