Introduction to Bloodlines 📍

Our next Wessex Saddleback Bloodline is close to our hearts here at Jemingah Heritage. This bloodline was the first litter we were blessed with almost exactly two years ago. Introducing our next Bloodline:

————————— Beatrice —————————

We are very lucky to have two beautiful Beatrice sows at Jemingah Heritage, a mother and daughter duo. They are fantastic mothers, great litter sizes between 10-12, their personalities are amazing, great ni**le and teats placement, good ear length with nice long snouts, they are great length and depth in the body & good structure of the hams right down the leg.

Our two beautiful Beatrice Sows:

Eventine Beatrice K9 ( beatie) : our longer sow she’s about to turn 5 years old. She produced our first litter at Jemingah Heritage with a cracker litter of 10. She has amazing mothering skills, the litter marking wasn’t great but all offspring went on the produce amazing saddlebacks. All the litter photos

Jemingah Beatrice P1 (Robba) : our younger sow about to turn two, she will have her first litter this year. We are super excited to see how she performs, we always like to let the sows grows to about 18-24 months old before breeding them. Yes you may say it’s a long wait or waste to money but at Jemingah heritage we are do all about making money or pumping babies out of our sows. Heritage breeds need that time to fully grow, others we have found stunned growth, lower litter numbers, more stressful and struggles during labour. The last lot of photos from when she was little to now

Our beautiful Jemingah Beatrice won supreme Wessex Saddleback of Sydney Royal Easter Show Last year, at only 10 months old.

We can’t wait to continue sharing our knowledge and experience with all of you guys. Make sure to continue to follow long, we are almost halfway through our sow bloodlines.

Introduction to Bloodlines 📍

Continuing on with our Wessex Saddleback Sow Bloodlines. In the spotlight this week:

————————— Lucy —————————

We are extremely lucky to have two different Lucy bloodlines at Jemingah Heritage. We have an older Lucy bloodline and a new Lucy bloodline. The older Lucy sows are known for their deep bodies, long ears, long snouts & great saddle size. Very similar are the new Lucy sows with longer length, not as deep bodies, nice saddle size still and great ni**le/ test placement, long ears and long snouts. The Lucy sows have some problems with mothering ability, but we are slowly improving this. Very cheeky personalities and sometimes a little snappy.

Our beautiful Lucy sows:

- Lucy : our older Lucy girl she’s turning 9 in October she’s on the older side of breeding. She has a great example of her breeding our Jemingah Dominator x Lucy boar in our breeding program is her off spring the first couple of photos her boar. Last couple of photos of Lucy

- Winnie : our younger and newer Lucy Bloodline. She has a beautiful personality and is so cheeky. Entering our breeding herd at the end of last year. We can’t wait to see how she goes at Jemingah Heritage this year. Middle lot of photos

We love our beautiful Lucy sows, we have a little run of number 3’s with all our Lucy’s and off spring. Make sure to stay tune for the next Introduction of bloodlines.

📍Introduction to Bloodlines

Next up we have the beautiful Gypsy Bloodline:

————————— Gypsy —————————

At Jemingah Heritage we adore our gorgeous Gypsy Sow. She has a beautiful personality, she is a real character. The Gypsy Sow line is know for their perfect long ears, beautiful streamline body, a little shorter in length compared to the Princess or Milko Bloodline, amazing personalities, pretty good shape from the hams and down the leg, good ni**les placement, good teats with the occasional off ni**le, good litter sizes between 7-9, fantastic mothering nature, great depth in the belly, long snouts and perfect feet.

Our Gypsy girl is a great example of why the Large Blacks are the most docile and beautiful natured breeds of pigs. She is also a great example of the bloodline.

We get asked a lot how you can tell the difference between each animal and bloodline on the farm. It’s an easy question to answer. They all look different, they all have different features and personalities. Each bloodline looks completely different.

- Stavely Ranges P82 Gypsy
She is our beautiful Gypsy Breeding sow, she as really proved herself at Jemingah Heritage. Having her first litter in September of 7, the excellent mothering skills and nature she has, and second place in her class at Bedgerebong Show 2025. She is an amazing credit to her breeder Nick Brain.

- Jemingah R13 Gypsy

- Jemingah R14 Gypsy

Both off-spring to our beautiful girl, Jemingah Gypsy R14 will be joining our Breeding herd at Jemingah Heritage. Our beautiful Jemingah R13 is looking for her new home in a breeding stud.

Jemingah Heritage 2025 recap🐽

We have had an amazing year! We introduced over 10 new bloodlines into our herd family. We have an amazing range of bloodlines in both Wessex Saddlebacks & Large Blacks now. We had quite the year with breeding stock. And …………………………..
We have been working on something big!

We had an abundance of babies, over 40 babies blessed our farm this year from just 6 litters. We were blessed with a total of 3 Wessex Saddleback Litters & 3 Large Black Litters. We have seen a massive improvement to litter size in the heritage breeds over the last 12 months, especially with genetics too. We have seen our farm grow 4 times the amount this year. We welcomed our last litter on the 28th of this month of beautiful saddlebacks.

We sold to over 20 new & old breeders from near/far, we have welcomed so many new breeders this year & it warms our hearts to know so many people share the same love we have for these amazing breeds. It has been amazing to watch a whole new generation of pig breeders come through. We are extremely lucky to be one of the biggest Wessex Saddleback breeders in NSW, and if not the biggest Large Black Breeders in NSW. We have made some amazing connections & friendships throughout the journey of 2025.

We also started our transition into a new paddock & free range set up for our pig family. We are slowly making adjustments to our set up, making improving as we go. With the growth of our stud it has been a big plan to get the perfect set up. We have also rotated from pen shelters & sun shelters for our piggies especially in the summer months. We are working on a new watering system too, we are also going into a new feeding system through 2026 as well.

We gained a wealth of knowledge & experience from so many beautiful people. We attended three pig shows in 2025, both received amazing results that we are incredibly proud of. We have been so incredibly grateful for all the opportunities we have had in 2025. We can’t wait to see what 2026 has to offer. We have lots of big plans for 2026, we are so extremely thankful for everyone around us that has been apart of our 2025.
