We say NO to EnergyCo

We say NO to EnergyCo!

EnergyCo are planning to build two, side by side, 80m tall transmission towers right through the heart of our valley. Stretching from Rouchel to Walcha, EnergyCo's gigantic transmission highway will rip apart the Upper Hunter's Rouchel, Gundy, Waverley and Timor communities.

Construction of a transmission corridor through this country is neither practical nor achievable without enormous and unnecessary financial costs to taxpayers, significant economic loss to the surrounding economy and irreversible environmental damage to the natural landscape at the headwaters of the Hunter River catchment.

This route threatens some of our state's most productive agricultural land, reducing the productivity, profitability and resilience of local farming businesses and communities responsible for producing some of the country’s best food, fibre and thoroughbred horses.

Say NO to EnergyCo and Minister Penny Sharpe's reckless and irresponsible transmission line to nowhere!

We need to say No to EnergyCo

We need to say No to EnergyCo

Backed by the Upper Hunter Responsible Infrastructure Group, Protect The Valley is a dedicated community network of Upper Hunter landowners, residents and business owners committed to ensuring EnergyCo’s ill-conceived New England REZ transmission lines proposal does not compromise the future prosperity of our people, business and communities.
