🥛🚨 **THE MILK HAS LANDED!!!** 🚨🥛

After all the drama, phone calls, empty fridges and wondering whether milk had simply disappeared from the island…

**WE HAVE MILK!** 🙌😂

Fresh milk is **back in store and on the shelves**.

A huge thank you to everyone who has been patient with us while we chased this one down. We know it’s been frustrating, and we’re very sorry to everyone who has come in looking for milk only to find an empty fridge.

There is just one little catch… 🤦‍♀️

We **didn’t receive our full milk order** on the flight. The airline didn’t send the entire delivery, and at this stage **we have not been given a timeframe for when the rest of our order will be sent**.

So while we are very happy to finally have milk back on the shelves, our supply is still limited and we can’t say exactly when the next lot will arrive.

We’ll keep chasing it and, as always, we’ll let you know when we know more.

**Crisis partially averted.** 😂🥛

We’ve been hearing a LOT lately that people want more **quick, easy and convenient meal options** — something you can grab when you don’t have the time (or inclination 😂) to chop half the contents of the crisper yourself.

So… **we’ve listened!**

We now have a new range of **ready-to-go salads, salad bowls and prepared vegetables** in store. 🥬🥕🥦

Everything is already washed, chopped and ready to go — whether you want a quick lunch, an easy side for dinner or just something healthy without the chopping board, knife and subsequent mountain of dishes. 😂

🥛 **A MILK UPDATE… AND A BIG APOLOGY!** 🥛

We know milk has been *very* hard to find in our fridges this week, and we’re really sorry to everyone who has come in looking for it — only to find an empty shelf. 😬

We received a delivery on Monday, but unfortunately we have had no fresh milk available today.

Demand has been particularly high this week, and unfortunately our supply simply hasn’t been enough to keep up.

We were expecting another delivery to be dropped at the airline this morning, so we were expecting milk to arrive on this afternoon’s flight. When nothing arrived, we contacted the airline to find out what had happened, only to be told that they hadn’t received any milk for us.

As it’s a regular recurring order, we had expected to be notified if there was an issue with the delivery, so we were a little caught off guard.

We then contacted our milk supplier, only to discover that they had closed for the day at 2:45pm — and naturally, we called just before 3pm. 🤦‍♀️ Apparently milk emergencies don't qualify for overtime! 😂

We’re doing what we can to get more milk on its way and will keep everyone updated as soon as we know more.

**We’re genuinely sorry** to everyone who has been inconvenienced. We know milk is one of those things you expect to be able to walk into the supermarket and buy, and we completely understand the frustration when it’s not there.

Now, if someone could please arrange for the next plane to be **95% milk and 5% everything else**, we'd really appreciate it. 😂🥛

🍎🥦 **If our Fruit & Veg department is looking a little… sad today, there’s a reason!** 😅

We would normally receive our fresh produce delivery this morning, along with a good chunk of our other perishable stock.

Unfortunately, due to **one aircraft undergoing scheduled maintenance and another requiring unexpected maintenance**, the airline we use was operating with only **one aircraft available today**.

As a result, we received **very little of our perishable freight**.

And needless to say…

Our Fruit & Veg department is currently looking a little **dismal.** 🫣😂

We promise we DID order it.
We promise we haven't suddenly developed an aversion to vegetables.
**It just couldn't get here.** ✈️🍎

We're hoping to get more of our perishable stock across as soon as aircraft availability allows, and we'll be filling those sad-looking gaps the minute it arrives.

Between the planes and the boat this week, apparently getting freight to King Island has decided to play on **hard mode.** 😂

Thanks for bearing with us, King Island. ❤️

As always, we're doing everything we can at our end to keep the shelves stocked with what we can get here!

🚢 **A little freight update from us…**

We haven’t posted about the shipping disruption this week as we were hoping things would be back on track fairly quickly, but after receiving another update this evening, we thought it was time to keep everyone in the loop.

Earlier this week, *Investigator II* developed a mechanical issue and had to return to Devonport for inspection and repairs.

The vessel was then expected to depart Devonport on **Wednesday 23 September**, arriving at Grassy on **Thursday 24 September**.

Unfortunately, we’ve now been advised that repairs are still continuing and **tomorrow’s sailing has been postponed again**.

The latest schedule is now:
🚢 **Depart Devonport – Thursday 24 September**
🏝️ **Arrive Grassy – Friday 25 September**

For us, this means some of our grocery, liquor and other freight will be arriving later than expected, so you may start to notice a few gaps appearing on the shelves.

Basically, some of our stock has decided to take an **extended mainland holiday without getting its leave approved.** 😂

Bass Island Line has advised that **back-to-back sailings are planned once *Investigator II* returns to service** to help get the delayed freight moving.

Of course, the vessel needs to be safe before it returns to service, so for now we'll keep doing what we can with what we've got and get everything onto the shelves as quickly as possible when it arrives. ❤️

And perhaps we can all collectively **cross our fingers, toes and anything else available for Thursday.** 🤞😂
