We are located on just over 32 hectares close to Dalton NSW, approximately 1 hour from Canberra and 25 minutes from Yass. We chose to move here as we were looking for a healthier way of life for our family. As well as a small herd of miniature cattle we have a breeding herd of white huacaya (wah-kai-ya) alpacas. Our alpaca business is named Majestick Alpacas and if you would like to find out more

Prior to our arrival, the farm had been severally overgrazed with sheep and there was little life left in the soil. By utilising rotational grazing, we have been able to restore life through resting our pasture, grazing or tramping down of weeds, due to smaller grazing areas, and breaking up the cattle dung after they have moved on to fresher pastures. We are also in the early stages of utilising the benefits of alpaca manure and worm casting to help further fertilise our soil, which in turn will produce more improved pasture for our cattle to graze. Along with planting an array of fruit trees and establishing a veggie garden we started looking into healthy options for meat. After reading the health benefits of grass feed beef against the grain feed beef we chose two breeds of miniature cattle, Galloway and Dexter, that could be finished on grass. Both of these breeds are able to survive on minimal feed and under the harsh Southern Tablelands conditions, whilst also being easy to handle. They are the perfect fit for us and our small farm that had been so mistreated. We are now looking to the future of growing this herd, continuing to improve our pasture, so that we can supply our customers with a quality healthy meat option.
