πŸ’›πŸ’™MEN'S PREMIER LEAGUE CO-COACHES πŸ’›πŸ’™

The Wanderers Football Club is excited to announce the appointment of Aaron Motlop and Steven Motlop as Co-Coaches of our Men's Premier League program for Season 2026/27.

We are proud to have Aaron continue in this coaching role and equally thrilled to welcome Steven back to the Wanderers family to join Aaron.

As proud club juniors, Aaron and Steven embody everything Wanderers stands for. Their deep connection to the club, combined with their football expertise, high football IQ, and strong football pedigree, will help us to embark on an exciting new chapter for our senior men's program.

Having two homegrown leaders at the helm is a testament to the strength of our club culture and pathways. Their passion for the game, commitment to player development, and understanding of what it means to represent Wanderers make them the perfect duo to team to lead our Men's Premier League squad.

We look forward to seeing Aaron and Steven guide the group as we continue building towards a successful future.

Congratulations Aaron and Steven. Let’s get to work! πŸ¦…

Aboriginal Community Harvest was there again, hand in hand with Fire&Forage to support the amazing food on Cape Adieu Darwin Harbour Sailing Cruise as our F&F Chef Zach Green The Storyteller Chef delivered a native food menu on a beautiful Darwin evening.

Shout out to Seven Seasons Spirits providing the paired drinks with the CanapΓ© menu.

The Larrakia people are the Traditional Owners of the Darwin region. Gulumoerrgin is the Indigenous language for Darwin and the surrounding regions of Cox Peninsula and Gunn Point in the Northern Territory.

🐟 We are now in Damibila β€” Barramundi and bush fruit time.

As the floodwaters begin to recede and waterways clear, barramundi become plentiful across the region, making this an important time for fishing and gathering on Country. At the same time, many native bush fruits ripen and become ready for harvest, providing seasonal foods and medicines that have sustained Larrakia people for generations.

Damibila is a time of abundance, movement and connection to waterways, guided by deep cultural knowledge of seasonal changes, tides, plants and animal behaviour.

The Gulumoerrgin (Larrakia) seasonal calendar reflects deep knowledge of Country, guiding when to harvest, travel and prepare. The seasons are defined as:

🌧️ Balnba (rainy season)
β›ˆοΈ Dalay (monsoon season)
🌾 Mayilema (speargrass, Magpie Goose egg and knock β€˜em down season)
🐟 Damibila (Barramundi and bush fruit time)
🌱 Dinidjanggama (heavy dew time)
πŸ’¨ Gurrulwa (big wind time)
🌞 Dalirrgang (build-up)

Thank you for having me Maloerroe-ma Pathway Program run by Larrakia Nation. πŸ‘ŒπŸ½

Tonight the kids learned how to cook Rosella Jam, Panna Cotta and tasted some native greens which we fried up. πŸ₯¬ surprisingly they ate the greensπŸ˜‚

Thank you to Jarrod Stokes for inviting us for our second time at the centre that opened early this year in Malak.
