Berry Good Jam and Chutney

Berry Good Jam and Chutney Berry Good Jam is now in retirement!! Please enjoy my products and share my passion for delicious food and fresh flavours.

Encouraged by friends and family, I have turned my joy for making tasty and unusual jams and chutneys into a small business in my Dayboro home, selling online and in local shops. Berry Good products are 100% natural, starting with fresh authentic ingredients, which are lovingly handmade in small batches to produce unique jams and chutneys. I hope you love eating my jams and chutneys as much as I love making them!

We had a great time in Longreach, so much to see and do! At the Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame we enjoyed the arena show and tour of the heritage centre. We went for a ride in a Cobb & Co stagecoach drawn by 5 horses, along an outback track, that was an experience! Watched an amusing old time tent show, lots of comedy, stories and animals involved! Visited the Qantas Founders Museum and historic aircraft. Stopped at Tambo and Wallumbilla on the way home. The chicken racing at Tambo Royal Carrangarra hotel was an hilarious end to our trip!

Winton is a classic outback town, historic buildings and great old hotels. Unfortunately all camping grounds were full ☹️ as we'd arrived when the annual camel racing event was on! We had a look around town then traveled 40km to the nearest rest stop where we could camp. During the night a road train full of cattle arrived, what a noise of banging and mooing all night. We then went to the Australian Age of Dinosaurs tour, which was a great experience! Next stop Longreach.

In Mount Isa we visited the underground hospital, museums and Lake Moondarra. Louise reminisced about her nurse training time in Mount Isa. We then stayed at Mary Kathleen town that was built in 1954 and abandoned in 1982 when the uranium mine closed. The buildings have gone, but concrete slabs show where they once were.
Visited Cloncurry and Walkabout Creek Hotel that is famous for Crocodile Dundee movie. Stayed the night at Dinosaur Creek gravel pit, great off-grid location. Next stop Winton.

Two days in Alice Springs, we visited the Royal Flying Doctors museum, which was really interesting. Walked a bit around the Botanical gardens and town. All was well until friends contacted us about the town being in lockdown, which started on the day we left! We felt safe and saw no problems, just don't go out after dark.
Then we stayed at the Devil's Marbles, more amazing rock formations!
Stopped over at Barkly Homestead Roadhouse and Post Office Hotel Camooweal on the way to Mount Isa.

Our days at Uluru and Kata Tjuta were special, although not what we expected, due to the weather. We missed sunrise at Uluru due to clouds and did the 10km walk around the base mainly in rain and cold wind. Next day at Kata Tjuta we had fog, first time our guide had seen fog in 5 years! We did manage to see the sunset at Uluru. Despite all this we enjoyed the beauty, history and stories of the area, it is an amazing place!

Coober Pedy, what a unique and amazing town! The opal capital of the world, supplying 85% of world opals. We visited underground homes, churches and old mines. Half of the people live in underground homes. Met some interesting characters and heard lots of stories about the history and present day mining. Witnessed an amazing sunset at the Breakaways!

Peterborough was a lovely town with a long railway history, we did the Steamtown tour, which was very interesting. Then on to Port Augusta, a larger town, so stocked up at Woolies! Plenty of walks and a visit to Wadlata Outback Centre with a tour that takes you through the history of Australia. On the way to our next stop we visited the Arid Botanical gardens and Woomera RAAF base where rocket and weapons testing took place. It's amazing to find these places in the middle of nowhere! Overnight stop at Lake Hart, our first off-grid, for a gorgeous sunset!

We've just completed week one of our first big motorhome trip to Uluru, 6 weeks in total. We've stayed in Warwick, Moree, Bourke, Wilcannia, Broken Hill and are in Peterborough now.
There have been interesting sights in each stopover and along the way. Broken Hill has been the highlight so far, with preserved buildings, mining history and a glorious sunrise over the mines and the outback.
