Stunning Chole Masala Chickpea Curry finished off with julienne green chilli, fresh ginger and roasted Kasoori methi (dried fenugreek leaves).

I hope you're safe and well. This post is going to be a bit longer than normal, so please bare with me.

Thank you to everyone who ordered this week from Shimla Spice Co. Here is the menu for next week meal deliveries, including the launch of a $14.95 express lunch delivery exclusively for frontline, essential services and volunteers across Daylesford and Hepburn. This will be for Thursday and Friday next week (instructions on the attached menu). Choose any main from the menu and it will come with rice in a single 500ml takeaway container. The pictures of the three dishes with rice on the express menu are just to give you a visual example of what you can expect 🙂 Thanks again to Andrea Lindsay for the idea and support.

It's officially week 3 done, and the support, feedback and reviews have been overwhelming, including reaching more than 260 menu items ordered. I opened myself to deliveries outside of Daylesford/Hepburn this week, and have quickly learned that, unfortunately, it's not sustainable, especially as a one man band. Time and fuel (I'm sure some of you can relate) costs have hit pretty hard.

I will still honour free delivery across Daylesford and Hepburn Springs, for anyone outside of that, pick up is available from The Stanbridge Centre (please park on street, not behind the church or in the church car parking) in Daylesford. I've also met a lot of people with disability and mobility constraints, who were very grateful for the delivery. I can't, with a clear conscious, turn my back on those individuals. Please reach out to me directly and I am happy to work out an arrangement should you reside outside of Daylesford/Hepburn.

Some of the reviews have been very welcomed (and hilarious), such as, "My 10 year old daughter said this butter chicken is life changing" and, "You really need to have a disclaimer that the Kulfi ice-cream is highly addictive" and that the "Vegetarian Pakoras are the best I've ever had". Thank you so much. For anyone willing to write a review on my Google business page or Facebook business page, you will receive 10% off ALL future orders as a thank you 🙂

Shimla Spice Co will also be holding a BBQ with one of my partners Daylesford Meat Co on Saturday the 10th from 9:00am - 1:00pm directly in front of Daylesford Meat Co. I'll be serving up tandoori chicken skewers, raita yoghurt salad, "Holy Moly" Tomato Chutney and "Holy Heat" Green Chutney. A percentage of proceeds from the day will also be donated to Good Grub Club Daylesford.

Thanks again for the incredible support whilst I navigate this start up business, which is learning and evolving everyday.

Last but not least, deepest condolences to Morgan Williams and family with sad news of Stephany Panhuysen. She will be missed, and mum still remembers her holding her hand and conversation when they last met. Thoughts with you and the wider familty and friends.

Morning Shimalians,

I hope you're well.

A few updates to share with this weeks Shimla Spice Co meal delivery. This is the biggest menu to date, with the Masterchef (mum) joining me this week on the menu. Raita Yogurt Salad and Aloo Paratha (Spiced potato filling Indian flat breads) have been asked for, so, they are now on the menu.

Details on how to order are attached along with the delivery days being this Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I will also now be delivering to Porcupine Ridge, Coomoora, Wheatsheaf and Glen Lyon. Collection can be arranged subject to availability or for my information please email [email protected]

I hope your safe and well.

A very bittersweet week for Shimla Spice Co and the community. Last week I launched local meal delivery across Daylesford/Hepburn. I had no idea what to expect or how it would go. 17 people (many thanks!) from across the community placed an order. This week, 43 (thank you!) people from across the community made an order, with over 172 items across the menu.

Whilst I am extremely grateful for the support and interest, Thursday nights delivery run hit hard and I'm still in shock. I went to deliver Jen Grinter's order, and was saddened by the news of her passing. Merryn Tinkler and I had an embrace, a cry and that evening hit hard. Jen was one of my first friends I had made after moving here, was my biggest support, especially at Feast & Flicks and loved my mum's (Puja) Vegetarian Biryani, chutneys and cooking.

I caught up with Merryn Tinkler this morning, and as of next weeks menu, my mum and I will be making "The Jen" Biryani, as a tribute to her. Merryn shared that Jen would of loved that. For those who knew her, she was bright, soulful, kind, considerate, warming and a little spicy. All of the things the Vegetarian Biryani is. 50% of all biryani sales will go to Elissa Dannock at Larkspur Flowers, who will be making a special arrangement in honour and as a tribute to Jen Grinter.

For those who caught me emotional and flat on my Thursday deliveries, I apologise.

Here is the menu for next weeks meal deliveries for Thursday the 1st (4:00pm-6:00pm), Friday the 2nd (4:00pm - 6:00pm) and Saturday the 3rd (3:00pm - 5:00pm).

I'm extremely grateful for the support and patience as I navigate my start up. Please note: Final orders close on Tuesday the 29th at 5:00pm.

Hi Shimalians,

Just a quick update for you all regarding this week's menu. Goat Curry and Makhani Butter Chicken have both SOLD OUT! WOW! Thank you so much for the overwhelming support. Last week was my first week which had a great response. This week has almost doubled! So grateful, so thank you :)

All other options on the menu (see attached) remain and final orders by 6:00pm tonight. Wednesday deliveries are now fully booked, so Thursday and Friday delivery days are available between 4:30pm - 6:00pm.

This week’s meal delivery (or pick up) menu is currently available, with last orders being taken by 6:00pm tomorrow night, and it’s a menu I’m very excited about!

Yesterday was the launch of Shimla Spice Co local authentic Indian meal delivery service, and the support from across the community was incredible and overwhelming at the same time.

Immediate feedback, reviews and also people expressing that this will become a weekly order is extremely humbling. So much gratitude, and so great to meet new people within the community coupled with familiar faces, so THANK YOU!

Next weeks menu (see attached) will consist of some of my favourites, such as Goat Curry, Vegetable Korma, Makhani Dal and Tandoori Chicken Curry, so options for Vegans, Vego's and carnivores. I will be accepting pre-orders from today until Tuesday morning next week. Meal deliveries (free delivery to Daylesford/Hepburn) will be for Wednesday the 23rd , Thursday the 24th and Friday the 25th next week and meals will be delivered between (you pick) 4:30pm - 6:30pm. For community members outside of Daylesford/Hepburn, pick up can be arranged directly from me. My meals are freshly cooked, so all you need to do is heat and eat 🙂

What a day.

My first meal delivery across Daylesford and Hepburn and I couldn’t be happier with the support.

It might not be perfect, and my labelling skills are definitely not my strongest attribute, but it’s honest.

Many thanks for the incredible support and interest in this weeks pre-made Indian meal deliveries. It has been nothing short of awesome, and everyone has been ordering from across the menu which is great.

For any locals interested, I will be taking final orders no later than 5:00pm tonight. Deliveries are scheduled for tomorrow Friday the 18th between 4:30pm - 6:30pm. I can also arrange to deliver Saturday the 19th and also for people to collect from me on Sunday at my commercial kitchen in Daylesford.

I'm delighted (and excited!) to announce that my new and local authentic Indian food business
Shimla Spice Co will finally be launching local meal delivery (free delivery for Daylesford & Hepburn Springs residents) this week on Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th. There's been a huge amount of interest within the community and the time has finally come.

How does it work? Each week I will have an evolving menu and will post the menu in advance via Shimla Spice Co, Instagram and The Grapevine. My deliveries time slots will be between 5pm - 6pm OR 6:00pm - 7:00pm for this Friday and Saturday, and delivery days will alternate week by week. To order (must be in advance and paid for, via PayID, cash or mobile POS) simply message, call, or email me at [email protected]

For those who reside outside of Daylesford, or if those delivery times/don't work, I will also allow for the ability of the pre-made and packed meals to be collected from my commercial kitchen at The Stanbridge Centre, likely to be late Sunday afternoon. I am flexible so reach out and I can arrange for this 🙂

As I am not a restaurant, my operating model is uniquely different. I source my fresh vegetables from Tonnas Fruit & Vegetables and my meat and poultry from Daylesford Meat Co, Olive oil direct from Cobram Estate. The moment I receive the produce (never frozen) I cook it immediately on the day I receive it. Which means, the food is always freshly made, never frozen, and all you simply need to do is reheat it via oven, stove top or microwave. So, heat and eat!

I'm excited to launch the third phase of the business and thank you all for your support and interest. A reminder that a percentage of all purchases will be allocated and donated to Chillout and Good Grub Club Daylesford.
