The stud was founded in the 1970's at "Sunny Hills," Moores Lane, Winton 3673 Benalla Victoria . Principals: David, Geoff, Clive (dec) and Judy (ret) Moore. The stud sire Tremendous and 129 stud ewes were purchased from Merryville Pty Ltd Yass N.S.W. David purchased the flock from Clive and Judy in 2004 with 2 Mooralla Rams and 118 merino Ewes. It is run in 2 locations at Benalla and Daylesford

ooralla has been strengthened regularly by top stud rams and ewes from Merryville. programme was introduced. Top sires have been: a Merryville Ram who was a Champion Ram at Dubbo Sheep Show. Current sires are Merryville Rams from the renowned Ringmaster family. In July 2008 Mooralla purchased a Rokeby 6005 Ram sired by the Merryville Ringmaster 12 Syndicate, 16.9 micron at the Ballarat Fine Wool Ram Sale
