At lunchtime today we have finally reached 125mm of rain FOR THE YEAR... it's October 13 and 125mm is the total for 2026 so far. The average rainfall to end of September for Deepwater is 588mm, so we are a LONG way below that. Lucky to have put corn silage underground 3 years ago and to have found some agistment for heifers and now old cows. Hopefully by lunchtime tomorrow the total will be significantly higher 🌧

Got a chance to take a photo when set up ready to start thawing and transferring embryos but was flat out after that thawing, loading and doing paperwork. Three days of transfers with Ced Wise Ced Wise AB Services with Wagyu, Red Brangus, Highland, Charolais and Brangus embryos.

Pretty exciting to take out 1st and 3rd in the Carcass Section of 2026 Beef Extravaganza Unled! These 2 steers were sired by Superb Speckle Park bulls. Top MSA index for the event.

The apprentice was on feed duty today while the master had the day off to go see his kids ride at pony club. Johnny needs a bit more practice to make feeding as smooth and seamless as Tom does

September embryo transfers done and dusted! Fuelled by scones. A good day with Adam and Sol from Ced Wise AB Services in the new lab on wheels. Good recip usage rate so plenty of Wagyu, Santa Gertrudis and Speckle Park embryos transferred, fingers crossed for top pregnancy rates. Finished the day putting in CIDRs for October's program
