Dear Denmark - and to our friends in the wider Great Southern,
After 6 months of operation, we thought it might be time to say hello and let you know what it is we do and why we do it! 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮 𝗛𝘂𝘁 exists to serve you with Japan's finest farm-direct teas in a setting that encourages you to stop everything - and simply savour the moment.
We are passionate about Japan's beautiful tea culture and the fascinating history that lies beneath it - hence our name which is a reference to the adoption of tea-drinking in ancient Japan. Tea in Japan is something of a spiritual practice, and has strong connections with nature and Zen Buddhism. It has long been considered a beverage which provides physical and mental replenishment.
Our premium loose leaf tea and matcha is sourced from small farms - where the emphasis is on quality over volume - in Japan's famous southern growing regions. Much goes into the making of Japanese tea, a process which is the culmination of countless seasons of care and refinement.
No we don't serve coffee, but if you are hesitant to try green tea, we encourage you to step outside your comfort zone and experience something new (a ritual which is in fact, many centuries old!). Rich in antioxidants with calming and mood-boosting properties, we invite you to step inside and try authentic green tea with fresh eyes and an open mind.
