There’s more than one type of Pinot Noir growing in our vineyard.

There are many different “clones” of Pinot Noir, each having its own suite of characters. Here at e’Stellar Estate, we have six different clones spread out over twelve blocks— the building blocks of complexity.

We're growing MV6, MV4, D5V12, Pommard, Abel, and 667.

Whilst they could do with some catchier names, they are an important part of the mix here and provide many blending options to build and balance our Pinot Noir wines. 🍇

Imagine the pile of hair if you only visited the hairdresser once a year! 💇

We've pruned our Pinot Noir vines and laid down new canes on the wire using the arched cane technique. This approach encourages uniform bud burst and a well-balanced canopy.

The pruned branches will be mulched and returned to the soil.

We have twelve different Chardonnays and twelve different Pinot Noirs to look at. These are all from our Estate in Dixons Creek, Yarra Valley. A mix of blocks and clones.

Today we are critically judging each one and getting an idea of where each one will get placed when we blend later in the year. There are some very pretty wines in 2026!
