Same philosophy. Same dry-grown approach. Completely different w**es.

Our Home Block Chardonnay (Steels Creek) and Melba Block Chardonnay (Dixons Creek) are both unirrigated, both from vines planted in the late 1970s and early 1980s — and they taste nothing alike. Because terroir is real, and dry-grown vines don't lie about where they come from.

"Did you always plan to have a restaurant?"

It's a question we get asked a lot at the cellar door. The honest answer: the restaurant was never really separate from the w**e. When Matthew and I left our corporate careers to build Steels Gate, we were chasing a way of life where the food on the plate and the w**e in the glass came from the same place.
