The punter's last drink
A standing tradition that will always be a bartender’s hardest drink to pour, is the punter's last drink.
The history behind the last drink, is a time honoured tradition, paying last respects to those who we have lost over the years. It is always the hardest drink to pour, as we know it will never be drank again, and moments will only be experienced from here on in as memories of those who we have lost over time.
While we remember those we serve differently to those who have personal relationships with the fallen, losing a patron still affects us all the same. Some we build strong relationships with over the years as we live through their highs, and their lows. We share a special bond with those on the other side of the bar.
We all have our own way of paying our last respects, and while we as bartenders may not share the same type of bond as those close to the fallen, this is our way of honouring them.
Pouring out one last drink that will forever remain full.
