Devon Court Herefords

We’re pretty Xcited about the second crop of calves by Mawarra X Factor U395 🔥

These two calves are exactly what we’re looking for — great presence, plenty of style and that real eye-catching look. 👌

Another brilliant, trouble-free calving and X Factor is certainly staying true to his data.

👉 Birth weights in the mid-30kg range
👉 Plenty of calving ease
👉 Plenty of growth

Next month his sons hit their 400-day scans, lining up in a massive contemporary group of 110 bulls across a good spread of sires.

By the look of them, X Factor will be pushing the average on 400-day weight — even with calves out of first-calving heifers. 💪

Then comes the bit we’re really interested in — seeing how his carcase data stacks up against the mob. 👀

Very impressive calves and we’ll definitely be using him again.

Might have to keep one this time… 😝🐂

Good cattle. Good data. No compromises.

RIP Nelly

Good mates are hard to find and even harder to loose!

A very sad day indeed but all good things come to an end. 16 years of loyalty and friendship, old girl you have earned your respect 🫡.

She lived a good, long life and was ready to go, but that doesn’t make saying goodbye any easier.
Thanks for the years of loyalty, the memories and the friendship, old girl.

Rest easy, Nelly. Your work here is done.

🥧 **THE VERDICT IS IN… DC PIES WERE A HIT!** 🥧

Plenty of happy customers at the sale today, and judging by the reviews, the **Devon Court Pies** might’ve nearly stolen the show! 😂

Nothing like putting people on the spot mid-pie for an honest review 🎥🥧

A massive thanks to everyone who supported the pies and **Dulacca Kindy** today.

Looks like she couldn’t wait to meet us! ⭐️

Our first calf of the season arrived this morning — 10 days early, and what an exciting way to begin.

A beautiful little heifer by Devon Court Ultra Star U023, our 2026 EKKA Grand Champion Hereford Bull. 🏆

Following U023’s outstanding success at EKKA, the arrival of his first calf marks an important milestone. It is a privilege to see his breeding influence begin to shape the next generation, and this promising heifer is an exciting first example of what he can contribute to our program.

Mum and bub are both doing well, and if this little lady is any indication, we are looking forward to seeing more U023 calves arrive over the coming.

Good cattle. Good data. No compromises.

🎙️ A good bull is more than a set of numbers.

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Cye Travers for a chat about Devon Court, where we’ve come from and, more importantly, where we’re heading.

We covered plenty — phenotype, BREEDPLAN, genomics, fertility, grazing management and the commercial proof behind the cattle we breed.

For us, it’s never been about chasing numbers. It’s about breeding cattle that look right, are structurally sound, perform on data and, most importantly, work in the real world for our clients.

We also had a yarn about our commercial herd, Paddock to Palate results, a bit of Devon Court history and what’s behind the bulls heading into our September 1 Bull Sale.

Thanks to Cye for having me on. I really enjoyed the conversation and the chance to talk cattle, breeding philosophy and why we do things the way we do.

🎧 Have a listen — I’d be interested to hear what you think.

Good cattle. Good data. No compromises.
