It is a family run business that began as one of the first vineyards on the Mornington Peninsula. The owner Andrew Hickinbotham is a 3rd generation winemaker who created the winery from recycled materials giving it a rich history and a rustic feel. The Hickinbotham of Dromana winery has expanded over the years to include a large restaurant and boutique brewery "HIX BEER" that has created a name fo

r itself for its award winning beers. We offer amazing Beer and Wines brewed on site with very little preservatives (stopping those hangovers), great food, warm friendly staff and an amazing view of the bay.

Happy Father’s Day from our family to yours!

Today is about the dads, grandads and father figures who teach us things, make us laugh, pass down their stories and somehow always have an opinion on how something should be done.

Family has always been at the heart of Hickinbotham, so days like today feel pretty special around here.

To everyone spending the day around our tables, and to all those celebrating wherever you are, we hope there’s good food, a cold drink and plenty of time together.

And just like that, the vineyard is waking up. 🌱

After months of bare vines and winter dormancy, the first tiny buds are beginning to appear, one of our favourite signs that spring has arrived at Hickinbotham.

This is budburst, the beginning of a whole new growing season. From these little buds will come new shoots, leaves and eventually the grapes that will become a future vintage.

There’s a long way to go between here and harvest, and plenty of work ahead, but for now we’re just enjoying the first little signs of green returning to the vineyard.

Not everyone gets excited about a full dam. We do. 🌧️

After all the recent rain, our dam is looking very healthy - and around here, that water is worth celebrating.

Capturing rainfall on the property gives us a valuable water supply to draw on when the drier months arrive, helping us care for the vineyard, gardens and property while making the most of what nature provides.

Sustainability at Hickinbotham isn't always about the big things. Sometimes it's simply working with the seasons, using what we have wisely and looking after the land that looks after us.

And right now, we're pretty happy to see this view.

Internationally acclaimed blues guitarist Geoff Achison brings The Algo-Rhythms to Hickinbotham for a night of rocking blues, reimagined classics and the kind of improvisational jams that make live music so good.

Think old-school juke joint energy, incredible guitar work and three musicians who know how to take a song somewhere completely unexpected.

Come early, grab a table for dinner, pour yourself a glass and settle in for a seriously good night of live music.
