Four years ago we got started with a truckload of buckets and a friend's kind offer of a garage (lookin' at you )

It was all gifted to us: the equipment, the systems, and relationships with many of the wonderful restaurants we supply to this day.

It continues to be a difficult journey, but a rewarding one. We'd like to think we've earned Doctorates in Mycology from the University of Life by now.

Our fifth year growing gourmet mushrooms promises to be our best yet: we've got the capacity to grow all kinds of new species, and we're exploring all sorts of interesting ways to get our tasty produce into people's bellies.

Everybody needs good neighbours! And what wonderful neighbours we have in Farm My School

Our mushies have been appearing in their veggie boxes for the last few weeks, and we just wanted to show how it is they get there! The answer is, they go for a nice stroll through Basin Reserve bushland :)

Come and make shiitake logs with us! We are running two workshops this year, at our farm in Drysdale and at Warrnambool Community Garden. We had a wonderful and messy time with the .community.garden school holidays sprouts club! We made funky spore print artworks, hunted for fungi in the garden, and set up a mulch bed to grow king stropharia mushrooms (similar to Portobello but bigger, beautifuler and tastier) for years to come.

Well this is a first for us! Ignore the mouldy bucket it's sitting on, and check out that head of lions mane mushroom!

Sean has been bugging us about this one for years and we're getting very close to being able to deliver large quantities of lions mane using our new steamer made by and beautiful hardwood sawdust from

We've learnt a lot about lions mane over the last couple of months as we've trialled different substrate recipes and growing methods. It's totally different to oyster mushrooms and is produced on a completely parallel process. Unfortunately for now we haven't worked out a zero-plastic-waste method for growing them but we have a few ideas in the pipeline. We're just stoked to be growing it at all right now!

You can buy our mushrooms all over the place! Stocks are limited though, so get in quick! For Melbournians, you can order online via Common Ground Project for pickup in a range of locations, and at all our other outlets, we usually restock with fresh punnets every Friday :)
