New SMS scam prevention measure: Action required for practices using text messaging ⚠️

New national scam prevention measures are being introduced to help stop SMS sender IDs being misused by scammers.

More than 100 health professionals from across Western and Far West NSW came together on Saturday for the 2026 Type 2 Diabetes Masterclass, highlighting the strong regional commitment to improving diabetes care.

Delivered in partnership with Western Sydney Diabetes and the Care Partnership – Diabetes program, the masterclass brought together leading experts, local clinicians and multidisciplinary teams to strengthen practical approaches to managing Type 2 diabetes.

The day covered key areas including best practice management, medication and treatment pathways, patient engagement, and coordinated, team‑based care. It also created space to share insights, discuss local challenges and explore opportunities to improve outcomes for communities across the region.
We want to thank all presenters and speakers for sharing their expertise and insights, and also attendees for their strong engagement throughout the sessions.

The Care Partnership – Diabetes program is a collaboration between the Western NSW Local Health District, the Far West Local Health District, Western NSW PHN and Rural Doctors Network.

This week, 15 – 21 June, is Men’s Health Week. Men’s Health Week aims to support men and boys to engage in healthier lifestyle choices.

Looking out for your mental health starts with connection.

Across our region, The Men's Table is helping men connect, talk openly, and feel supported over a simple shared meal each month.

A Men’s Table participant living in Western NSW described being hesitant before going along to his first Entrée at the Men’s Table, but after a short time, he is now noticing positive impacts on his mental health.

Another participant got involved with his local Men’s Table to make a difference in his community by offering a listening ear.

This Sunday, 14 June, is World Blood Donor Day! 🩸

Every year countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day (WBDD). The event serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.

In Australia, a new blood donor is needed every 5 minutes.

Make a blood donation in honour of World Blood Donor Day.

Head to www.lifeblood.com.au/donor-centre to find your local donor centre.
