Established in 1999, Weetalabah Gelbvieh has built a reputation as one of Australia’s leading Gelbvieh studs, producing cattle bred to perform in the paddock, stand up in tough conditions and deliver for commercial producers.

Our breeding program is built around quiet temperament, structural soundness, fertility, strong maternal ability and high-milking females, combined with muscle, softness and genuine do-ability.

With generations of cattle-breeding experience behind us, we have continually invested in and developed our herd through carefully selected Australian, American and Canadian genetics, always with a focus on producing cattle that are practical, functional and suited to Australian conditions. Our genetics have been sold throughout Australia, New Zealand and Paraguay, and successfully incorporated into a wide range of breeding programs and commercial operations.

🏆 Our show ring results speak for themselves, with Weetalabah consistently achieving success at major Queensland shows, including Grand Champion Male and Female honours. But our focus is not simply the show ring. Our cattle must perform in the paddock before they ever enter the show ring. We use showing as an opportunity to benchmark our genetics against other leading breeders and to showcase the Gelbvieh breed to the wider cattle industry.

Ekka 2026 – We're ready! 🎉🐂

The team has officially arrived at Ekka 2026! The cattle are settled and washed and looking fantastic, and day one is already behind us.

After a big day, we celebrated the best way we know how—with one of our own home-grown Gelbvieh T-bones. All we can say is... wow! Exceptional flavour and tenderness, and a great reminder of why we're so passionate about the Gelbvieh breed. 🥩❤️

This year we're proudly exhibiting a team of 9 head:

We're excited to showcase the quality, performance and temperament of our cattle and can't wait for judging on Friday and Saturday.
