Just like the vines, the bees shift into a quieter rhythm as winter sets in. They don’t hibernate, but their activity slows right down. Instead of moving through the farm and vineyard, the colony stays close inside the hive, clustering together to maintain warmth and relying on stored honey for energy.

Wayfinder is farmed as a living ecosystem. Bees support pollination, sheep graze between plantings, and chickens help return nutrients to the soil. By working with nature rather than against it, we build healthier soils and more resilient vineyards.

What better moment to savour our 2022 Malbec. Discretely opulent but contained and seductively poised. Drinking beautifully now after careful bottle age, with the structure to reward further cellaring.

Wayfinder was designed to operate fully off-grid, with every part of the system built to reduce pressure on natural resources. All water used across the property is harvested from rainfall and stored on site, removing the need for scheme water.

Wastewater from the winery and hospitality spaces is treated naturally through an on-site biological filtration system before being safely returned to the land.

A productive market garden is built well before anything is ready to harvest. At Wayfinder, Amy and the garden team are often planning one or two seasons ahead. Deciding what to sow now based on what the kitchen will need months down the track. Weather patterns, soil condition, crop rotation, flowering times and harvest windows all play a role.

Winter is setting in across the vineyard, and much of the work now happens below the surface. Compost, cover crops and organic soil inputs are all part of preparing the vines for the seasons ahead, helping build healthier soils, retain moisture and support long-term vine balance.

Along with many trees, power poles and shed roofs the recent storm has blown the vines bare. This week Yann, Simone and the Viti team enjoyed the sun (and surf, to be honest) that came after, and began pruning...

Vintage 2026 has eased into the next phase in Margaret River. The rush of ferment is behind us. The winery has settled into a new phase; one that Head Winemaker Andrew Trio describes as quieter but more deliberate.

Say hello to Amy Dyson, our Head Market Gardener.

Based on the same site as our Wilyabrup vineyard, Amy oversees the growing of fresh produce for the Wayfinder kitchen (soon to be kitchens).

Her passion is obvious the moment the convo turns to worm castings, compost, cover crops, beneficial insects, seed saving, soil health, crop rotation or the very specific joy of a well-timed harvest.
