Some things are just better together - bad weather, good food, good drinks and most importantly good company. Our new winter menu created by our Head Chef Hayden and our kitchen crew we must admit is best enjoyed IRL.

So to celebrate - we’re shouting you and three mates lunch and drinks at our place - on any day this 2026 winter season.

Massive shout out & credit to our small but mighty brew team, Head Brewer Rhys and our team Matt, Mel and Cam (who you can now find as the Head Brewer at South Camp ).

They look after every little bit of the 400,000 litres of beer we brew this year from start to finish. All our team continuously take great care to bring high quality, consistent and beautifully made beer to West Oz.

From creating recipes to brewing our beers, operations of the brew house, research & development, quality control, canning and kegging all the goodies to go around West Oz, looking after our beer tanks that directly pour into the taps at our brewpub, logistics, and always happy to help with any questions or a good chat (and photo shoot !!)

Last month the Perth Royal Beer Awards happened in Claremont. Our West Coast Pilsner in can took out the trophy of Best Lager in Package.

We entered five packaged beers into the awards, and we are stoked to take home these medals also;
Silver for packaged Wheatbelt Lager
Silver for packaged Cacao Stout
Bronze for packaged Pale Ale

Overall, a total of 482 beers were entered into this year’s awards, with 10 trophies, 77 gold, 178 silver and 154 bronze medals awarded. Also congratulations to our fellow trophy winners (with a special shout out to south west breweries who were awarded seven of the ten trophies)

Hear hear for West Oz beer !! and huge thanks to everyone for supporting independent beer!!! and Eagle Bay Brewing Co. Those 4 packs shared, or a pint with some mates at the pub or that cube packed in the car ready for an adventure mean more than you probably realise.

We’re stoked to welcome our new Head Chef Hayden Vink to the Eagle Bay family.

With over 15 years as a Head Chef, Hayden brings serious down-south credentials to our kitchen and no stranger to cooking up a storm in south west breweries.

Hayden & our kitchen team have been quietly curating our new winter menu - launching next week, filled with yum new foodie friends for winter, and a little tweak to some of our old faithfuls.

Definitely a good excuse to go out, book a little lunch date or swing past for a snack. (or book a table for the long weekend incoming)

The month of May, some gloriously good beers have been brewed by us, paying homage to our love of Lagers, IPA’s & locally grown ingredients.

To start with, we welcome back to our annual collaboration with - our Oaked Vienna Lager. We’ve been brewing this beer together for six years, and it’s fifth birthday this year in a can.

Our Vienna Lager’s rich caramel and biscuit malt base was cold conditioned for five weeks on French oak, creating gentle complexity and depth, with a rounded mouthfeel and a deliciously crisp finish. A modern interpretation of a classic European style, brewed for timeless drinkability. An ode to our love of lager, best enjoyed over the cooler months of the year.

Our Head Brewer Rhys says “For me, OVL always marks my favorite time of year here in the South West. OVL provides the perfect versatility for the season - crisp, clean drinkability well suited for the sunnier days, while the layered malts and smooth oak finish add a balanced complexity that compliments cooler evenings by the fireplace perfectly, It’s a classic”
