A little winter reset before Spring arrives…

We’re getting ready for a fresh new season at our Island Home — doing a little spring cleaning, working on our new Spring menu and getting everything ready for the warmer days ahead.

So from today Monday 17 August until 17 September, our winter opening hours will be:

CLOSED: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday
OPEN FROM 11AM: Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday

Same great service. Same incredible rooftop views. Same island-inspired food and island-crafted beer. We’re simply opening four days a week instead of five for the remainder of winter.

And come Spring School Holidays, we’ll be back to normal trading.

This is what The Makers' Table is all about.

Four thoughtfully crafted courses. Three passionate makers sharing the stories behind every pour and every plate.

On Saturday 22 August, join us for an intimate rooftop dining experience overlooking Moreton Bay at sunset.

For the 2026 inaugural event, we invite Chief Winemaker, Jessica Ferguson of Sirromet Wines. Celebrating local craftmanship, Jessica brings her passion for cool-climate wines from the Granite Belt, sharing stories, philosophy & expertise behind one of Queensland's most awarded wine producers.

Every wine & beer pairing has been chosen to elevate the dish. Every course has a story. Every seat is at the table with the makers themselves.

Tickets are $149 and include:

• Meet the makers throughout the evening

The evening has been perfectly timed for the 5:00pm Sealink passenger ferry from Cleveland, with the return ferry departing after the event.

It’s Ekka Wednesday and we’re opening our doors for all you Brissy day-trippers and Straddie long-long-weekenders looking for an island escape.

Come over for lunch, settle in on the rooftop, soak up those Moreton Bay views and make a day of it.

And at 4pm, it’s New Beer with the Brewers with the return of a crowd favourite — Galleon Cold IPA. Come have a beer with the crew and be among the first to welcome it back on tap.

We're giving our crew a well-earned day off this Ekka Monday (10 August).

Rather than asking our team to work through the public holiday, we've decided to close for the day so they can head to the Ekka, spend time with family and enjoy one of Queensland's great traditions.

The reality for small hospitality businesses is that public holidays come with significantly higher operating costs, and while public holiday surcharges help, they rarely cover the true cost of opening. For us, this felt like the right decision for both our team and our business.

The good news? We'll be OPEN on Wednesday 12 August instead, making the most of the Brisbane Ekka public holiday for all you Brisbane day-trippers and Straddie long-long-weekenders looking for a great excuse to escape to the island.

Better still, we'll be celebrating on Wednesday 12 August with Beer Giveaways from 4pm, to cheer in the return of the GALLEON COLD IPA – one of our most requested re-brews. If you've been waiting for this one to come back on tap, Wednesday's your day. 🍻

We hope to see you before, after, and on Wednesday for great food, island-crafted beers and those rooftop views you've been missing.

Three remarkable evenings. Three celebrated makers. One unforgettable table.

The Makers' Table is our new island dining experience where exceptional food is thoughtfully paired with both wine and island-crafted beer, alongside the stories of the people who create them.

Our series begins on Saturday 22 August with Jessica Ferguson, Chief Winemaker at Sirromet Wines, before welcoming Ben Chipman of Tom Foolery Wines on 26 September, and Abby Heslop from Witches Falls Wines on 10 October.

Each evening features a four-course degustation, paired wines and beers, rooftop sunset views over Moreton Bay, and fascinating conversation with the makers themselves. Timed to coincide with the 8:45pm Sealink passenger ferry, it's an effortless mainland escape for those not lucky enought to call Straddie home.

Every Makers' Table is completely unique, with its own menu, pairings and guest maker.
