Mount Pleasant Show – A Proud First for Our Stud 🐏🏆
What a milestone weekend for us at the Mount Pleasant Show in March earlier this year!
After three years of building our stud, we finally took the leap and entered the show ring for the very first time with our ram, "Eerste". To say we were excited would be an understatement—nervous, proud, and a little out of our depth all at once—but incredibly grateful we gave it a go.
Eerste was awarded First Place in his class, and while he was the sole entry on the day, what truly meant the most to us was the feedback from the judges. Having judged Australian Whites at much larger shows, their comments meant a great deal—describing him as “true to type and displaying all the characteristics you would be looking for in a ram of this breed.”
For us, that validation of our breeding program is what made the day so special.
This experience wasn’t just about a ribbon—it was about putting ourselves out there, learning, and being part of something bigger for the Australian White breed. We hope to see more studs join in and support these shows in the future, as it’s a fantastic way to showcase the quality and direction of the breed.
A huge thank you to the organisers of the Mount Pleasant Show for putting on such a great event, and to the judges for their time, knowledge, and encouragement. We also want to extend a special thanks to the many experienced stud breeders across other breeds who welcomed us so warmly and generously shared their advice—it made a world of difference to us as newcomers.
And of course, we couldn’t be prouder of Eerste—calm, composed, and representing our stud exactly how we’d hoped on the day.
Here’s to many more shows ahead!
